    Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday

Fair point. Will have to beat Fulham to stay up. May be that Fulham rest a fair few players for their playoff push.

    Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday

I think what they mean is Wigan are likely to appeal the decision and then it would be postponed, but unlikely there would be a conclusion to the appeal before the new season starts. Therefore, points deduction carried over to next season. Unless, of course, they don’t appeal.

    Squad trimming

Bit harsh on him imo. Came into a floundering L1 team at a very young age and in L2 he was a stand-out performer. Hat trick on the opening day spoke volumes. He may well be struggling after 2 years out but he may well have progressed. Conversely, Ponticelli has only stood out at U23 level and...

My daughter will be loaded I'm sure

Reminds me of my little brother’s mate (they’re 10). Bartered with his mum to pay him a tenner to hoover the house, then paid his brother a fiver to do it.

It’s probably a bit slower than average as I’d prefer to be closer to a strike rate of 50. However, if we can post a big first innings score then it gives the bowlers plenty to work with.

How many people use Dark Mode?

Never even heard of Dark Mode til this thread but much prefer it.

    All purpose cricket thread

That’s the thing. Since the introduction of T20 we seem to have wanted test openers to hit run-a-ball 50s and the like. Good patient batting and accumulation is the answer.

    Season ticket refunds

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’ll have paid up for the season and will be due a refund directly (i.e. nothing to do with the finance company).

    Season ticket refunds

It’s possible, though you could ask them to confirm your supporter/ST number? Or request a cheque be issued to the address on file? Can’t imagine there will be too many that take it up. Appreciate not everyone’s circumstances are the same but shouldn’t prove too much of an admin headache for them.

    Realistic signings

Someone mentioned in one of the other threads that Dennis Politic is looking like he’s going to Blackpool. Can’t see anything on this anywhere. Would love to see one of Politic or Marcus Browne be next on the list, but feel that may be too many AMs in the squad.

    IMPORTANT: Downtime tonight

An observation/suggestion on the mobile setup if I may... can the title of the threads I haven’t read to the end of be in bold on the main screen? Can’t tell what I have and haven’t read as it stands. Don’t like that ‘New’ icon appearing next to some things.

    Wasps downward spiral...

Could ask for an increase in interest to reflect the increased risk. Could call in the debt. Neither of which will happen, 95% sure of that.

Not at all. I know that’s the point of this, by the way.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Cronyism of the highest order. You’ve gotta love it* *of course, a joke.

    The Terror Police

Also worth listening to Untold: The Daniel Morgan Murder on podcast. Really interesting and disturbing story. Same storyline as Murder in the Car Park. Dodgy as fuck, that investigation was, and has guest appearances from Laurie Flynn, co-author of The Untouchables.

    Things that annoy you

Absolutely appreciate what you’re saying, but I did get a small ‘bonus’ from my employer. Extra day’s holiday (doesn’t have to be used this year) as well as being able to claim a takeaway for the family on expenses. Know that I’m lucky considering some of the circumstances out there.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Certainly locally, the housing market is fairly buoyant. There will be important considerations like job security on your ability to meet repayments, but I wouldn’t expect that to be too much trouble for you as a teacher. Also depends on the equity stake in your property as to how you approach...
