Once Again, the Inevitable Football League Show Thread...

Now that's a bump! We did already have a thread for it that I started Sat, though..inevitably ;)

Maybe you should try thinking before calling people you've never met before retarded simply because they don't "share your vision"?

    Thorn is not the man.

I'm afraid that the decision to get rid of him last season wasn't taken and you're going to have to see how he does this season. Given that he was kept on, I'll repeat, it is unrealistic and unreasonable to expect he be fired after winning one and drawing one away game. I'd say the same if I...

    Thorn is not the man.

Any manager sacked after 2 games when unbeaten in a new season has a huge reason to feel hard done by: it doesn't happen. As for George-sorry, bad analogy, I hate him more than you do AT. The red mist descends as soon as I see his name, little toad..

Obviously the above post is best read in a gradually more high-pitched tone, like the bit in Family Guy where Stewie asks Brain how things are going on with his novel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORXU9ZfVUmw&feature=related

    Thorn is not the man.

Just to check Clarrie, do you really think we should sack the manager after two games, one of which we won, one of which we drew? Or are your views based on the fact that you've already made your mind up about Thorn based on last season? Either way, sacking the manager 2 games into the new...

The title of this thread would work well as a lyric set to Nick Cave's "Death Is Not The End".

You do know that 2/3 of those were linked with us but signed elsewhere when we were under embargo? And McCleod is probably on more money at Pompey than we could pay. You know what Pompey are like for splashing the cash they don't have!

Never heard the word "members" used in a different context to belonging to something? Something a little more..personal? Y'know, maybe in a scenario involving a bit of innuendo? http://onlineslangdictionary.com/meaning-definition-of/member nudge ;)

You really must tell us what it was like having McIndoe as a good player...seems he did well everywhere bar here. Aside from when he was playing against us, naturally

    Line up v Sheffield United?

You might be right, but at the moment, do either get into our best team? An on-form, confident Sheff would, but at the moment he isn't. Barton, Jennings, Fleck, Kilbane and Thomas (if fit) would be ahead of them right now, and only one of them might be able to play wide (Kilbane?).

Ah, the Conference winner who went to The Championship but is now home? Has he still got it, then? Remember him tearing us apart for West Ham one season.

    mcgoldrick

It's why we might be able to get him. He's not just a striker, he's played wide right and in the hole, and a lot of those appearances were as sub. He'd be a better wide-right option than anyone in the squad, and in terms of choosing a striker, who would you rather have: him, or ROD or Jeffers...

Agreed, think he's a player who'd improve us, but no there haven't been any more posts about him lately.

I listened to that play-off game against Forest on the radio, it sounded great. Our worry is that we'll be rattling around in our big empty stadium and the atmosphere will be dire. On the other hand, having a "winning season", as the Americans would say, for the first time in a decade might see...
