    SKY and Sheffield United Away

Seen virtually every major band except the Beatles, Talking Heads, Bowie, Abba, some of the Heavy Metal bands, and the poodle haired rock bands. Best live bands ever: Little Feat, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, The Tubes, Specials, Selecter, latter day Clash, ACDC, Bob Marley, and how sad Ten CC.

    SKY and Sheffield United Away

Saw the original line up at Birmingham Town Hall. OMG, I am so old. They were awesome.

Or a Brentford. Hope they stay up for more than one season of course.

    The Penalty

This is absolutely crucial. Every match is televised now. Lets see how it pans out ie stops players diving or back to the usual inconsistencies from the powers that be.

    Title contenders?

When I was growing up half the families in our street were Irish catholic with massive families in Council houses, as they were called then, so some potential Irish international there, if they hadn't all pissed it up too much. I remember when I lived in Coundon some years ago there were loads...

    This league is wide open.

As a typical football fan after Luton I was in the wheels have come off camp, after Fulham we are going up camp. Realistically we could finish anywhere in this league (although relegation is extremely unlikely) and it is too soon to get over excited. If we can keep it going at home and improve...

Fair enough did not know that, but realistically will they ever be a big club? You do it by major support or rich owner. Don't know if they have either. Certainly, they have been on the same trajectory as us, albeit a year ahead. Suppose time will tell.

Match Thread Luton (A) Wed 29th Sep. 19.45 ko

Max was getting on a bit and has been traded in for better footballers who have historically been more successful goal scorers. That said, a lump who can disrupt defences on a cheap wage should not be completely dismissed, especially when he has a big heart and a love for the club. Was surprised...

I remeber people saying Luton as having the best pre season recruitment in the Championship. Appears their team took a while to gel and unfortunately it happened against us. Football is a funny old game (quote Jimmy Greaves). We smashed Milwall last season in admittedly favourable circumstances...

Why are we so average away?

Whilst we could have won any of our away games apart from Luton, why are we just not doing it away from the CBS Arena. Is it two goals scored, a missed penalty and now a good few conceded. Players who look like world beaters at home, look tentative away. The away support is awesome when we are...

    Next 10 Forecast

Think we can give anyone a game at home, although Fulham will be really, rteally tough. Away we have been poor, although we could have won any of them apart from Luton (even QPR we were the better side for most of the match). The key will be if the Luton match affects our confidence or if it was...

Match Thread Luton (A) Wed 29th Sep. 19.45 ko

Just when I thought we had the mental strength to overcome early setbacks, we end up looking like surrender monkeys. Did we only make their keeper have one save to make? Luton were good at the high press and they bullied us, but every player on our side made schoolboy errors. Every goal was...

    Dembele

Thought he was class, and a fully fit Dembele would be good in our team. Peterborough always want silly money for their players and sometimes get it.

    Being realistic

I think this team has spirit, a strong mentality and good ability. These together can take a team a long way in football. If we can keep the team together, avoid too many injuries and suspensions to key players the sky is the limit. By that, I mean top six. I don't think this team with the...

    Waghorn

Think MR will rotate the strikers except Gyo to keep them fresh. Waghorn no2 choice at present. Fitness and form will dictate. Good recruitment again from the team.

    Ostigard

His big thing we miss is from corners in the opposition half. Surely cant miss as many sitters this season. Will be a class player once he fully develops. I have a sneaking suspicion we will see him in a sky blue shirt again, hopefully for Coventry.

Match Thread Peterborough (H) Fri 24th Sept 7.45 ko

No easy matches in the Championship. We shocked a few clubs who underestimated us last season. That said, we should win unless the luck is really against us and we have some dreadful ref decisions like Tranmere in L1 which happens from time to time. If Rose plays for JCS, needs to be on the top...

Assuming we're not promoted or relegated, who do we want to go down?

The three teams that came up from L1 should be there abouts unless Blackpool do something special. Still cant understand why Hull had better odds than us to stay up at the start of the season. Derby are in peril especially if they get injuries. Think Reading even with a points deduction should...

    Oh Captain My Captain

Think Robins said something along the lines that no matter how old a player is, we are still going to improve him. McFaz also acknowledged he could get better. Brilliant attitudes all round. No standing still at the City.
