Exactly. And controlling a very high powered car (or feckin' huge horse) also requires controlled physical motion, strength and technical control. So by your definition, a driver or jockey, must also be an athlete. If sport is something in which human athletes compete, then motor racing and...

Again, define athletic. What's athletic about golf?

Define athlete. Is shot putting a sport? Weight lifting? Golf?

Dunno why I didn't just get a job as a racing driver or a jockey, knowing this.... Is it too late to apply do you think?

So there's no skill involved in being a jockey either? Again then, why do the best ones get paid more than the worst ones?

You should be on telly, mate. At least then we could turn you off. 😁

Ah, you must've missed that one. 😂

It's certainly pretty important, yes. Always has been in motor sport of all kinds, but most people still consider it a sport in which the driver clearly also influences the result. How about horse racing, is that not a sport either?

If it's _just_ the machinery, why do the best drivers get paid so much more than the worst ones? Why not just put an engineer in the car rather than a driver, cheaper and more expendable!

Do they set off at exactly the same time mate? I get that you don't like F1, but it quite clearly isn't the same as being an astronaut. Get over it, or grow a sense of humour, is my advice.

Are you too young to have watched Mo Konjic? 😁

I don't know mate, I think that's splitting hairs. Until they're literally firing off two rockets to the moon at the same time, and awarding medals to the winner, I don't think competitive astronauting is a thing. When they do it though, I'll watch, that's for sure. 😁

Forgot about them. Good shout mate, for bugger all money too, for a lot of them at least.

Not quite sure they're the fittest mate, but you do have to have strength, stamina, and courage, to drive an F1 car, agreed. It's just got a bit tedious for me personally, and I used to love it (each to their own, obviously). I once had a posh track day at Silverstone, where we got to have a...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Exactly. That not because of autism though. It's because he's a far right supporting arsehole.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Hmm. I've got a fair amount of experience with autism, living with a family member who has it. There's a world of difference between social errors and far right trolling. The normal, human, reaction of someone who has caused offence is to apologise for it rather than to double down on it...

    PA System

My theory is that having the PA turned up to 11, particularly just before kick off, kills the atmosphere, rather than generates it. Let the crowd make the noise, not the PA... Just mho. I'm old now. 😁

Also, Micah Richards, whom I'm sure is a lovely bloke but just grinds my gears on MOTD. And Bill Sweeney, who has run the RFU into the ground, whilst simultaneously taking an absolute fortune out of it for himself. Interesting, the dislike for Ronnie O'Sullivan hereabouts. I've always quite...

Anyone who is happy to wave the flag (paint it on their lid, tattoo it, etc etc), but has fucked off to Monaco or similar to avoid paying taxes draws my ire. Hamilton, most notably perhaps, but there are a number of others in F1 and other sports that do it.
