    Positive news if true.

What do you think will happen january sales??

I'd say Gadzhev, Tudgay and Lameiras could all leave, possibly Thomas as well.

Sigh................. I'd like to say i hope you are wrong............ but i know you're right.............

    Fisher

I can't see that he is suddenly crawling out of the woodwork now to spout the usual bull about the clubs not for sale, its the councils fault etc. It's got to be some kind of announcement.

    Investment on the Horizon?

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/fc-united-appeal-stadium-cash-12254407 I know a few people who work in the local Manchester media and the talk is that the financial situation is worse than is being reported.

As i say, i don't know enough about that to comment, but i don't accept that the same thing would automatically happen here.

Because we are not Saltzburg, we are not Leipzig. I don't know any fans of either of those clubs to ask how they feel about their current situation so it's difficult to judge to what extent they feel they have lost their identity anyway.

    Investment on the Horizon?

Alright enough now, don't labour the point. We all know that success on the pitch isn't the only thing that matters but its massively lazy to assume that a takeover by a big commercial entity would only deliver success at the expense of everything else that makes City city. Besides which it's...

    Investment on the Horizon?

Precisely this ^ Besides which it's really lazy to suggest that a big investment / takeover automatically means the destruction of a clubs identity and heritage. Football is a business now and thats not going to change anytime soon but clubs as a community haven't totally disappeared as a...

    Investment on the Horizon?

No its not okay but my point is there is no sense getting your hair off about it as whoever comes in (if indeed there is anyone at all) will have a similar agenda. Companies and rich investors don't buy football clubs for the sake of it.

ummmm..........hate to break it to you but thats kind of how football works................ every single league club is beholden to Sky already regardless of ownership............

    Investment on the Horizon?

We really wouldn't. Where we find ourselves now is a massive embarrassment. Irrelevant however as there is no way its Red Bull! :D

As Hull have proved, its not that easy to change a teams name and badge anyway. So even if Red Bull did come in it wouldn't necessarily mean a big rebranding. It's still not Red Bull though

More so than in English lower leagues. There is a close synergy in German football between local clubs and businesses based in the same areas so sponsorship deals can be substantial even outside of the top flight.

    Investment on the Horizon?

They did but the model is different in Europe. There is no money in English football outside the Prem. Even if they did want to start lower down and build up there are plenty of league one/two clubs with less baggage than us. The stadium / training ground issues etc surely make us very unpalatable.

    Investment on the Horizon?

I just can't see it being Red Bull. With the resources they have why would they not look at teams higher up the tree than us if they were wanting to get involved in English Football?

    Investment on the Horizon?

It's not just straight cash though. Property deals involving local Councils are often tied up with infrastructure and service improvements as well. If you have a target to build so many houses, so many community facilities, make road improvements etc etc you can often get developers to pay for...
