    Sheff Utd ratings

They were a lot better than us last night, but we were the better team back in the reverse fixture in November. Team and formation didn't work, the midfield 3, and Haji down the middle. Wilder prepared his team to nullify all our threats. In hindsight Frank should have switched to a back 5...

    Aidy Boothroyd

Yes, awful news. I liked the way he spoke when he came in, and thought he was building a decent team (Keogh, King etc). Would of been interesting to see had he not been sacked, if he would of kept us up the following season. Instead we got Andy Thorn

Haji will be roughed up by the Sheff U CB's. Wilder will make sure of that. Danger man. Haji seems to know how to look after himself though, and his lesser performances are not based on defenders intimidating him from what I've seen.

    Summer Transfer Window

We are technically a good squad. We showed against Wolves, Spurs (albeit a 2nd string side) and Man U that we can compete. I think players like Dovin, MVE, Torp, Grimes, Sheaf, Wright, Sakamoto and EMC could perform in the Premier League. I am sure Frank would of assessed that before taking the job.

    Ellis simms

I'm still a fan of Simms, but Wright has the CF shirt now. Remember that Luton game though, they played as front 2 and terrorised The Hatters, both scored too. Simms then picked up a niggle and Wright got crocked for 4 months 2 weeks later. Still think that would be lethal partnership moving...

    Sakamoto

Not sure I noticed a massive dip in his performances earlier this season. He wasn't at his best early on, but not many players were. Saying that though, great to see him hitting form again.

    Sakamoto

Finally we have a nasty Centre Back who will seek revenge...Kitching laid one on that Sheff Weds winger (Dolin I thin) who left a stud in Saka's knee earlier in the season at the CBS (given as accidental....)

    Fuck off Neville

Goodman is excellent. Very fair. Knows the game. I remember Mark Lawrenson on co-comms on the BBC (for all the big games). His continuous sarcastic one liners, and languid style were a tough match

We normally bounce back well from a defeat. I wouldn't be changing back to 3-5-2, especially at home. Maybe look at it for the Sheff U or Burnley games. I think Allen deserves a start (for Eccles) and Dasilva in for Bidwell, EMC for Wright.

    Ellis simms

We didn't play to Simms strengths yesterday. Wright was even more anonymous when he took over. I would of brought on BTA as the CF. Despite him being at fault for Stoke's first goal, he looked bright. He's no winger though.

It's far too soon to be welcoming back Mark Robins to the CBS as an opposition manager. I actually thought he'd take the season off and evaluate offers come the summer. It's annoying as we're now in a Play Off Hunt, and what should on paper be a winnable game becomes more complex. MR will be...

    Rudoni injury

Still a useful player to throw on last 10-15 mins if you need a goal. He won't be here come June

He scored a beauty last season at Sheff Weds

    We are right in it

We were far superior to Sheffield U at the CBS,, without a manager. Played crap at Burnley (also without a manager) but only narrowly lost. if we want to go up, we’re going to have to beat one of these in the final.

Same Team as Preston and hopefully Wright & Torp back on the bench. Although I would be tempted to look at Jamie Allen in CM, and possibly BTA out wide (Oxford may target Sakamoto).

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Feb

How many games did we win under Robins, whilst playing at best average? Some of the results in that Play Off run in '23 perhaps, but not many over the years. As soon as our levels were down, and we faced a defensive, physical side (especially at home) we inevitably lost.

    Players coming through

Obikwu’s goal on Saturday was sublime. You don’t see goals like that in League 2 very much

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Feb

I think the mentality (between fans anyway) at the moment, is this hoodoo is ridiculous. We're on a great run, playing at home and key players are starting to find form. Preston are a solid Championship side and will be physical and time waste etc, but we're a different beast under Lampard. Coud...
