Match Thread Grimsby Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

I went to a pre-season friendly at East End Park a few years ago... Lets just say it was Dunfermline v West Ham and Geoff Hurst scored a hat-trick. Bobby Moore came in for some fairly robust abuse too. It was an enjoyable experience despite the anti-english nature of the crowd chants !

QPR used to be the most expensive club in the country a few years back. It was at least £500 but may have been as much as £800. Certainly a test of the loyalty of the parents...

People who hate Coventry City FC ...

Paddy Crerand.... Talksport used to home in on him every time there was anything controversial being mentioned by the media against Manure or 'his beloved' Celtic. Utterly guaranteed, totally biased, angry rant followed. Moron of the highest order...

    Jim Twynham RIP

Like Wheelfass, I first met Jim at the Plough on London Road in the small back room listening to Silk playing rock/prog rock to all those who loved that genre of music. Don't think I missed a Sunday night there in the early 70's, once my mates had introduced me to the place. Jims distinctive...

Was this the first Suday game ?

There was also a gate which was left open for those who didnt want to buy a team sheet. Think it was required by law. Some took up the option of the freebie but the vast majority paid at the turnstiles.

    North based Sky Blues fans?

Having travelled to most parts of Lincolnshire as part of a former job, the overall accent used by the people born there is definitely as if they were from the East Midlands i.e. Leicestershire, Derbyshire etc Going eastwards, it changes dramatically at Sutton Bridge, on the A17, to a broadly...

    Transfer Rumour #CARLBAKERDAY

I'd be hoping he has more than one leg to stand on but if that's how low we've dropped then so be it. A few monopeds would be an improvement in a number of positions compared to last season...

I alway's thought Cloughie was a brillant manager

Rosario knew a few days in advance of the announcement that he had won goal of the season. Surprise, surprise...there was a flurry of bets on him in the Norwich area. The bookies knew they'd been stitched up but I dont remember if they paid out or not

    Gary Deegan

Yup. I was there for that game. We were battered from pillar to post all game. Forest hit the woodwork, had goals disallowed and missed a hatful of easy chances then Sara equalised. Could even have won it in injury time. Cracking goal celebration which sparked a seat hurtling over the edge from...
