I guess the simple answer is that, provided we stay up, we will be attractive to good players at League 1 teams for whom it will be a step up. Whether that is what we need is another matter altogether. My concern is that we just end up building a very good League 1 team.

We have four! They may not be world-beaters but they are good enough to keep us out of the bottom three. I think the real problems are (a) midfield and (b) having forwards who, for whatever reason, aren’t putting it in the net.

It’s worrying to think that, come Tuesday night, we could be rock bottom. All it needs is for us to lose to QPR and for Cardiff v Portsmouth to be a draw ☹️ We shouldn’t be anywhere near in that position with the players we have.
