I'm sure the people saying everyone should head back to the office have the best intentions. https://metro.co.uk/2020/09/03/lord-alan-sugar-calls-on-government-to-insist-office-workers-return-get-your-as-back-now-13219086/...

    US presidential Election 2020

Think Biden will edge it but it will be very close. The one thing Trump was right about was when he said he could stand on New York’s Fifth Avenue “and shoot somebody” and still not lose votes. Seems no matter how badly he has handled things, or anything he does or is linked to, his supporters...

    The new flag designs...

Can’t believe this conversation is still going on. The guy wanted a massive flag but didn’t have the money to pay for it, that’s pretty much it.

The walking dead starts again tonight

For me they're run about 5 seasons too long. If they'd have wrapped it up after 5 or 6 seasons it would have been an all time classic but they've dragged it out as long as possible. And with a spin off clearly intend to drag it out even longer.

No need for people to make posts like that. Jones has spoken before about how tough the injuries have been mentally, doesn't need people piling on now. If it is career ending then I'd hope the club offer him a role as they did with Busst.

We've got a decent sized medical team and there has been some turnover in staff while this run of ACLs has been going on. Would expect someone to have picked up on an issue if we were doing something different to other teams that was causing the issue. This was what Robins previously said about...

This is heartbreaking. What are the chances of him actually coming back from this a third time? Is even attempting to continue his career risking long term consequences? Sure those conversations will be happening.

Bound to be some trade offs. Not like we're getting anything in return at the moment when workers rights are eroded . What did you have in mind? Doesn't seem that difficult to make people redundant at present.

    Behind closed doors

When they did the test event at Edgbaston the stewards would only let a handful of people down to the concourse at the same time so social distancing could be maintained. Lot easier to do at an all day cricket match than 15 minute half time.

Championship Club Membership - 1st Sept

Can't you just buy one when they go on general sale? Appreciate you'd rather sort it now but you'll be able to get one that way if all else fails.

So we're going to try and bumble through until the spring when hopefully the "moonshot test" means everyone in the country can test themselves whenever they want to leave the house and know if they're safe to leave or not. That test doesn't currently exist though does it so its got to be...

Seemed to be Whitty saying its a long haul and next spring might be the point we start coming out of it. Talking about the possibility of further restrictions such as closing school. Followed by Johnson saying everything will be OK by Xmas!

Not sure what solution there is other than delay and hope. Of course it would be preferable to get 100% of salary or the current 80% rather than the 60% in Germany or 70% in Spain. Having said that I would be more than happy with 60% if the scheme here was extended. That's enough to cover my...

That's the problem isn't it? You can't say everyone who murders has a mental health issue and therefore should be excused so the issue becomes where do you put the line at which diminished responsibility becomes a valid argument.

For me that's two separate issues, the debate over capital punishment is a huge issue by itself. Completely agree that mental health shouldn't be used as a get out, but we all know there are lawyers who will try anything. Of course mental health can cover a huge array of issues, some relatively...

Are you suggesting bringing back capital punishment for this person specifically, murderers in general or just anyone who has mental health issues?

Not playing stupid, have no idea what you're getting at. The police and media have been accused of treating this case differently because it concerned a Somali refugee yet it turns out he was British, recently released from prison and known to have serious mental health issues. Once he was...

According to the government's own figures we've had capacity for over 320K tests a day every day since 21st July. In that time there's only been 3 days where we've done over 200K tests. Yet we're told people can't get tests and are being made to travel for hours. Something doesn't add up once again.
