Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I was struggling to think of anything past vaccine procurement so decided to google and see what came up. The first result was Conservative campaign literature which by a stunning coincidence has listed exactly the same things as you 🤔

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

To me he seems very much in the Boris say what people want to hear category. When he was campaigning round here he went to the HS2 site by the uni, where there is a decent sized protest about cutting down ancient tress, protecting the countryside etc and spoke about how much he in favour of HS2...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Seems to be a lot of people pointing to this article but isn't it just a long winded version of the much criticised 'voters are stupid'? It basically says those that have voted Conservative have fallen for a load of BS and if Labour just wait long enough they'll realise their mistake and return...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The issue is that it prevents some people from voting and has been shown to disproportionally impact certain demographics. 3.5 million people in the UK don't any photo ID , if you require either a passport or driving license that increases to 11 million. These are often the poorer people in...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

In the 2010 general election the Conservative manifesto promised a referendum on EU membership, they got 36.9% of the vote. In the 2021 Scottish election the SNP manifesto promised a referendum on UK membership, they got 47.7% of the vote. Why does one give a mandate and not the other?

How much value do any of those 'brands' have anymore? Is there a discussion to be had to merging all three under a new name to try and lose some of the baggage. Very drastic but I can't see any sign of a Labour resurgence anytime soon and the Lub Dem and Greens are firmly on the sidelines.

    Great first season back

Certainly exceeded my expectations. Well done to everyone. As ever we need to keep building and look to finish higher next year.

    Derby Sheffield Wed Match Thread

As annoying as Rotherham postponing all those games was it would be quite funny if they send Derby and Wednesday down.

Isn't there a cut off date and any deduction after that rolls over to next season?

    Post office - wrong accusations

They knew all about it but decided sending people to prison and trying to cover up the IT failures was the best option.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

So after all this are we finally setting on the reason for people voting Conservative being 'they're not Labour'? Struggle to get my head round that to be honest. As I've said before I can think of many reasons not to vote Labour, I've voted for other parties far more frequently than I've voted...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Don't think those asking what the attraction is to voting Conservative are sneering, I certainly don't intend to come over that way. Its a genuine question. I look at what's happened since the Conservative came to power in 2010 and can't think of a single reason I would vote for them, if I'm...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Same here. Not traditionally a Labour voter but voting for anyone else is a wasted vote. Its a vote against the Conservatives rather than a vote for Labour. I have no idea what Labours polices are in this election or the direction Starmer wants to take the party in as his actions are very...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You're posting in a political discussion thread, not exactly unreasonable to be asked political questions. Especially when there's been a discussion going on for a while about why people vote Conservative.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I've had things through the door every day for the Conservatives. One generic leaflet from Labour that just listed all their Coventry candidates, nothing specific to where I live. And nothing at all from the other parties. I had to google who was standing! Same on Facebook, multiple daily posts...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Out of interest when you all didn't vote Labour because of Corbyn did you vote Conservative? If so what was it that attracted your vote? And now that Corbyn is gone has your vote returned to Labour? Absolutely agree people can do what they want. However the question has been repeatedly asked in...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

No idea if that is true or not but I did hear a polling expert make an interesting point this morning. He reckoned that a decent chunk of Corbyn voters were previously non-voters and their vote hasn't moved to another party, they've gone back to being non-voters. Looking at Hartlepool as an...
