I know fans of many different clubs and they all admit they would have given up years ago and often ask me if I'm still bothering to go up the Ricoh and they laugh and shake head when I say yes. The club hasn't done anything to deserve the supporters they have in at least 30 years. We are just mugs.

I expect one striker in addition to loan, Vernam Plus one more midfielder, in addition to trialist, Samba. So definitely trying to get 3/4 more in. Vernam is an add on not the marquee signing Slade is after. Probably a beast of a centre forward.

We have 4 loans left plus Slade has talked about freebies. I will be surprised if there aren't another 4 or 5 at least to come in. 2 strikers, 2 defenders, 1 midfield minimum, is what I expect.

I have no intention of going to any game in this competition until it suits me. As others have said, those who have supported through thin and thinner, season ticket since early 70s in my case, are owed so much by this club after the crap way we have been treated and the bilge we have endured...

The Joshua Tree was the soundtrack to that cup run for me, especially for the trips to Sheffield and all over in the Spring of 87. Could be why it is one of my all time favourite albums. I have seen U2 in concert ten times. The first time in 1981, I believe! No better live act IMHO

Bloke in front of me at the Tesco checkout had his many items lined up in single file, including a box of paracetamol so that he filled the entire belt with about 20 items. Consequently I could not start loading my shopping on to the belt for some time. WTF?

Liverpool made 10 changes. No doubt lots of other Prem teams are playing weakened teams. Yet in the tournament designed for lower league teams we are only allowed a few changes so that the Prem teams can play their youngsters against strong opposition. Utter disgrace. No way will I ever watch...
