OH and sadly I fear we will come off worst. 0-2. They have so far defied expectations that they would plumet. It would be great to nick a 1-0 but without home fans that maybe a push. But live in hope - it's better to under-expect and then be pleasantly surprised.

except that is how he spends a load of his time and is where he is most effective - attacking down the left

Because Giles has quality, wheras the alternatives are journeymen at this level. He's played there before, he's a professional footballer, so should be adaptable, and it is only a minor tweak. It's not as if I'm suggesting putting Godden in goal or anything, just asking Giles to concentrate on...

Could Giles play in the Allen slot as an out-and-out winger? I love Giles's pace and it then allows Sam Mac to bolster the defence. Given how frequently we were advised last week just how poor Barnsley are in attack - which they then confirmed in reality - not too much should be read into the...

    Bournemouth predictions?

Ever the cassandra,I have to say that the evidence of playing behind closed doors seems to be that home advatage is negated quite abit

    Bournemouth predictions?

Of the four tricky ones this one might be the easiest to at least get a point, imho. They have two half decent results so far, bt you'd think Hamer and the back 5 (sounds like a 60's soul band) could contain them. A win would be a complete bonus.

    Mcfadzean

I was sceptical about whether he would survive at his age, but looked good against a (fairly unimaginative) Barnsley. Those passes around the back will see me in the cardiac unit

    Few things to note

People are assuming Kelly is the answer to the central midfield. He went off after 23 minutes at Bristol, when we were one down. The good spell of pressure leading to Godden's goal came after Kelly went off. Against Bournemouth we made his nowse even if only for 60-70 minutes but that will be on...

    Players that caught the eye

None of these fit with the way we play now - not even Bayliss and least of all McNulty. It could be that the million or so for Bayliss (although some will be perfomance related) could be a smart move. He could be the next Ben Stevenson or George Thomas where the cash was of more use to us than a...

four draws statistically improbable, Common sense tells you we will lose at least one. Therefore we need a win. Happy SBH

What struck me was how few passes went to feet in a way that the recipeint could use it straight away. It always had to be controlled, and momentum was lost. O'Hara was an honourable exception.
