Match Thread Doncaster Rovers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 18th Jan

Time for Cov fans to show up at St Andrews, be vocal and be the 12th man and cheer us to victory against these fellow promotion challengers. Big win today and one I thought we had to win after last week's draw. We have a game in hand on the top 3 and after next week, we will have an additional...

McCallum should have scored, but they should have had a penalty. Their players seem to fall too easily in and around our box. Shipley's goal was very well taken. We need to keep up the pressure on their goal and not sit back and invite pressure. Need a second goal to try to kill this off. Timely...

Looking at that bench, I wonder if we will ever see Hiwula play again for us. Been ages since he played and didn't even get a sniff in the FA Cup match. Still remember his great goal vs Portsmouth early in the season (I know he also missed several gilt-edged chances along the way including a...

Looks like Darren Moore and McSheffrey were on a spying mission in midweek to check out our team. Hope we’ve done our homework on them as well. Would love to win this one as it would be a big statement. Time to start beating the teams in and around the top 10 to get some separation.

I agree that starting Shipley, O’Hare, Kelly and Walsh as part of our midfield to support Godden in attack is probably our most potent offense and one that could generate goals. We could bring Allen and Biamou in the second half if this formula doesn’t work. We should not play for a draw and...

Positives about 4th round FA cup

Heard gate receipts will be split between us and them. So hope for a good turnout.

Match Thread Coventry City v Bristol Rovers - Tuesday 14th January 2020

Interesting line-up. The most interesting bit is how Marosi is named in both in the starting 11 and as a substitute as well (see link below) Coventry City v Bristol Rovers - live updates

    Where will we finish (new)

Prior to today’s match, I would’ve thought that a win today a MK Dons and a draw next week vs Doncaster would have really been a good set of results. After today’s draw, I feel it is imperative that we beat Doncaster next week. That will be a big ask considering their recent form. We need to...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. MK Dons Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

This is going to be a very tough game. They are a team that’s on a roll now and suddenly high on confidence. New manager, Russell Martin, has turned them around and sounded very confident in his pre-match interview. Their player, Alex Kibley, won player of the month for Dec. So we cannot take...

Match Thread Match thread - F a cup 3rd round - Bristol Rovers

Entertaining match. Could have easily won it if attempts by Godden, Shipley and Westbrooke had found the net. Rovers had a great attempt to make it 3-1 when the post saved us and that would have killed the game. Walsh was my MoM. Well taken first goal and forced the OG for the second goal. Still...

Match Thread Match thread - F a cup 3rd round - Bristol Rovers

Tough call. Tempted to rest key players like Godden, Kelly, Shipley, Fadz etc. and rotate the squad a little to give others (like Hiwula, Mason, Allen, O'Hare, Baka) more minutes and freshen things up a bit. For me. league is priority #1 and then comes the cup (although I know we need the money...

    The "Half" way point

Looking back at the past 5 seasons, on average a team needs around 72 points to just make the playoffs and around 90 points to get second place (autos). Since all teams are playing 2 fewer games due to Bury's expulsion, I think we need to factor that somehow into the equation. I think mid to...

    Bright Enobakahre

Not sure about this one. Many valid arguments made here by all. However, when he’s on his game, he gives opposing defences a torrid time. Also, I recall that Hiwula thrived when Bright was here. So I think it might be worth taking a chance.

    Is this our year ?

We need to stay grounded and take it 1 game at a time. As of Jan 1, only 10 points separate the top 10 teams. It’s anybody’s guess who can make it out of this pack.

Match Thread Tranmere Rovers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 1st Jan

Great result despite conceding what I hear was a sloppy goal and weathering a nervy start to the second half. Most results (bar Rotherham) went our way although we have a game in hand over Rotherham. All in all a very nice start to 2020 and let's keep it going.

Is Wycombe a one-off or the new normal?

As long-suffering fans who have seen the highs of winning the FA Cup and staying in the top flight for the better part of over three decades as well as the lows of dropping into league 2 and not having a ground to call home, aren’t we entitled or expected to want something more from the club we...

Match Thread Tranmere Rovers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 1st Jan

Bogey team (the Tranmere fan forum web site lists our last win there in 10 attempts as being in 1938 and they are the only team to beat us so far at St. Andrews) . Boggy ground (even Tranmere fans feel the poor playing surface will be to their advantage). While I don't want to take away...
