Well having parachute payments and offering a big increase in wages for the player would be an easy opener on negotiations.

Agents still hawk players around though, they get fees don't they and it's how they earn their living. Also teams still identify targets, they don't just rely on agents saying my client is available.

Several of our players have development potential. Yes it's nice to introduce two or three quality signings - but you don't want the annual churn over of a squad. Didn't we bring Frank and his team in for their coaching ability?

Sensible words. Especially on new signings, plenty fail to live up to the hype and expectation.

Who says he wants out? Nobody can stop other teams trying to buy our players. It should not be a shock that other teams will try and buy our better players and first team regulars.

I think most of us knew we would need money coming in to give us some spending power on targets. Unfortunately the offers for MVE (who we have brought in a replacement in for) have just not been good enough. We are always going to be a selling club, but the key is not to under sell them...

Probably because managers are just part of recruiting these days rather than being head of recruiting. Even if clubs chop and change managers they still look for stability in their internal structures.

You think he is fucking up the transfer window - fine. But the reality is you have no idea of what the landscape of our transfer window has been. No idea of what enquiries we have done or what deals we have tried to make. It is all about your expectation verses what has happened so far...
