Match Thread Coventry City - Birmingham City Match Thread - Saturday 27th Sep

4 points from the next two would be superb. 3 would be reasonable, wouldn't want to lose the unbeaten record, but preferable to two draws.

Nah, the ball was up there and Eccles got there a split second before. Had the Blues player got there first it would just as easily been a yellow for Eccles. Personally i thought it was harsh. Genuine attempt. 2nd one was silly as it was always being given as a yellow in that position.

I was on a podcast earlier this year, with a mainly northern audience (and presenters). The following episode my accent was heavily mocked, and they seemed to be mimicking a black-country accent. I've always thought when hearing my own voice back, that it is a distinct accent, but there's...

Solid session last night in the Warwick Uni Campus, to kick off our winter training programme (which basically means we're done with the shorter grass sessions, and will be doing longer stuff on the roads and the track) A 500 metre loop round a small lake...... 16 continuous laps, alternating...

    Podcast Dull Derby Day

I only saw the first 25mins as i had to go elsewhere, and it looked pretty decent...... then i heard the remainder of the first half on CWR, which sounded similar, But my Birmingham supporting colleagues told me yesterday that it was pretty dull for a neutral.

While most people's attention was focused on the Leicester match, i was where the real action was...... Sutton Park, for the Midlands 6-Stage Road Relay Champs. I ran 5th leg for a strong looking Masters team, who felt we might be in contention for a medal........ i set off in 4th place...

I was going to suggest the one i've got, which is the best i've ever had....... Mountain Equipment/Ron Hill ShakeDry........ it packs up really small, is brilliant, as as the name suggests you can shake the water droplets off and it'll be dry again in half hour. However its at least in the...

Agreed. I think the major part of Inov8's market is in America with trail running..... and a sweeping generalisation here, but i assume the yanks want technological improvements and to feel like they are running in the latest shoes..... i think in the UK people just want what works. There's so...

Speedgoats are incredibly comfortable..... but as you say they are absolutely lethal if its properly wet/muddy. The Graphene X-Talons were my favourite shoe for fell races..... however Inov8 are always messing with their range and don't make the graphene version any more...... i'm currently...

I wore gloves yesterday..... not because it was especially cold, but because i was using map and compass, it just becomes tricky if your fingers are even a little cold. Although about 20mins from the end i cupped up a load of water from a stream for a drink. I was on the home leg and knew my...

I was pretty fortunate...... It was far from pleasant, but the worst of the wind/rain stayed away until late afternoon. The main thing was the visibility wasn't too bad. I was out on saturday up there and it was shocking..... and today i abandoned all plans to go out into the hills due to the...

I ran the Lake District Mountain Trial yesterday. Was pretty happy when i reached the map point..... nearly all of the route was across the areas i ran on when i was living up there...... in fact there were two checkpoints on the mountain i used to use for hill rep sessions..... Finished...

I run in Pegasus for my easy runs...... and currently got a pair of Alphaflys on the go for sessions/races. (mainly because i got a huge discount on them, otherwise i doubt i'd have forked out for Alphaflys...... although they are admittedly absolutely brilliant) I went over to Warwick Uni...

Tough club session on the sports fields at Warwick University last night. 6 minutes 3 x 200mtr hills 6 minutes 3 x 200mtr hills 6 minutes A solid effort, and was pleased how much energy i had to kick off the tops of the hills on my 6 minute reps (which i did on a hilly circuit)

Yeah its a good setup down there. I did the Mile last new year. the Podium races are even better IMO...... with the Podium Festival in Leicester in the spring being the best.

I've had one or two issues with my achilles and calf, so elected not to go to Cardiff for the 5km..... Had the race been in Coventry i'd have probably risked it.... but Cardiff is a long way to go when not feeling fully fit. Have had a serious look at my training, and pulled some of the...

I'm up to the Lakes the following weekend for the Lake District Mountain Trial. You don't actually know where you're going until after you start, when you recieve your map with some numbered checkpoints to reach in order. I'm doing the short course, so all i know is the start location, and...
