    How many clubs?

I’m saying we’ve spent within our means, which is sensible. Sitting on the cash wouldn’t benefit us at all.

    How many clubs?

Where exactly do you see this problem coming from? We took in £35m. We’ve spent £20m odd. So we’re still in the green on fees alone. Wage bill will have increased yes, but it won’t be ridiculous. Even if we handed out an extra £50k a week that’s only £2.6m a year, (max contracts 4 years- so...

    How many clubs?

Most clubs that get promoted to the prem? e.g. Forest spent <£10m the season they got promoted, then over £100m in the prem. Sheff Utd have spent ~£50m this season after spending <5 last year. Better to spend it than have it moulding away in a bank account somewhere.

    Net Spend

Rubbish. Other than those two we probably had one other player (Sheaf) who belonged in a top 6 squad. Dabo made 27 apps and he’s now in league two ffs.

Our striker is socially outgoing, you’ll never sing that!

    Novelty wearing off?

Not surprising when we’re winless in 6 in a season where expectations are much higher than previous. It’s the first time since Robins joined that we’ve not been meeting expectations this far into a season.

    433

They’re still playing wide(r). The problem for me is that Simms looks very awkward when he has to receive the ball facing away from goal, and can’t beat a man or cross.

    Maths

It's bizarre that we backed the manager who got us to the playoff final on one of the smaller budgets in the league?

    433

They're both right footed? Simms shouldn't be playing out wide full stop.

Get a grip, this is a rebuilding season.

If we continue playing 433 then it's between him or Simms for the spot on the right surely? And while Simms is physical and sometimes can be effective through brute force I'd prefer a more technical player there, especially if Wright continues on the left.

Sakamoto? He’s not really had the chance to build understanding with the rest of them, keeps getting shuffled around the pitch and is in and out of the team. If we’re playing wingers he has to start I think.

Collins MVE Thomas Kitching Bidwell Eccles Sheaf Allen Sakamoto Simms Wright That’s what I want to see us build towards playing, I can see why MR is being conservative with some positions. Playmaking CM in Jan and that could be a good team. Maybe Ayari would look better in this formation as well.

    Trouble after the game.

I saw someone get tackled by about 5 stewards outside the east stand

He just doesn’t have the touch to play there. I would push him inside, drop Godden and start Sakamoto out wide.

    Josh Eccles

Been critical of him but it was a very good performance today. He went up a level in terms of moving the ball and beating a man.

    The case for Yasin Ayari

Assumed this thread was just going to be a picture of a suitcase for him to pack his stuff in for his journey back to Brighton.
