He doesn't rate Sheaf or Wilson either

As I said in the Shipley thread, you could equally argue that dropping him after a win & decent performance would be bad man management. It's very, very common to play through this kind of injury & Robins says it's not bothering him, refusing to play a player who wants to play would be bad man...

To be fair I think nearly all of them were @cc84cov although he ends them all with emojis too obviously.

    James Maddison

Mount is excellent & has probably been Chelsea's best player this season. He gets a ridiculous amount of bad press just because he's not the more fashionable, attacking player like Grealish or Maddison. Not sure why he's even brought into the conversation time & again, it shouldn't be an...

Knew he was carrying an injury but didn't know the extent - must be pretty painful.

    Shipley

He clearly got injured & was limping around so Robins took him off. His comments were admitting he wasn't sure if he was able to continue or not so took him off as we couldn't afford more injuries, not sure how you can read the statement any other way tbh? Mark Robins: “He got clattered on his...

    Don't know about you lot....

The overall quality of the league has definitely taken a hit this season. Ironically, it might have worked in our favour.

Suicide. Absolutely nothing out wide, we'd get utterly destroyed.

Shipley had one of his better games v Millwall & we won the match. Dropping him then could equally be seen as poor man management. If we went 2 up front, bearing in mind the 2 would be Baka & Biamou, & "had a go" & lost 5 or 6-0 what would that do for the players confidence?

    Robins - CWR

That's fair enough but having comprehensively outplayed Millwall last time out I can see why largely same again (minus Godden & Sheaf) was his thinking although personally I'd have kept Sheaf in too. What Shipley offered in that role last season was genuine support for the striker, including...

    Robins - CWR

Their midfield was much weaker that night too in fairness, no Ejaria, no Swift etc. The team they put out last night was about their strongest XI except for Liam Moore. I don't agree that going 2 up top solves our problems, especially with the lack of quality currently available in that position.

We had Godden then though & he was superb that night. Shipley also played 88 minutes & was very good.

    Robins - CWR

Some do sure but it is very uncommon actually (around 2%) & with such a gulf in class we'd have to throw the kitchen sink at them & hope to get lucky whilst leaving ourselves even wider open at the back, was never going to happen. You said it yourself
  18. Frostie

    Robins - CWR

Not really, he's always been pretty forthright & honest. Knowing that we lack a cutting edge & are consistently making awful errors defensively it's not unreasonable when you go 2-0 down to a top 6 side away from home to think that's probably that. That's why conceding so soon as we did was...

    Robins - CWR

Probably yes, and I said so at the time. Gyokeres did look knackered though so it would have meant bringing Baka on who you would also complain was a waste of a shirt so damned if he does, damned if he doesn't with some.

    Robins - CWR

Shipley was decent last time out against Millwall & we won the game so I can see why he kept him in. His performance last night was poor though & he definitely should have been substituted much earlier. Hyam has looked a liability most of the season but who else do you put in? An untried kid...
