Match Thread Coventry City vs. Southend United Match Thread - Saturday 29th Dec

Keep the team the same, but bring in Allessani for Thomas. That’s one direct change, as opposed to moving Bayliss out wide and changing the middle too. As much as I like Doyle, bringing him back would mean a defensive middle two, without the direct and attacking intent Bayliss can bring...

    Thomas injury

May sound dramatic, but it’s pivotal to our season he stays. He’s our only constantly reliable outlet; his pace and trickery scare teams, and he’s one of the few direct players we have. We need another winger as it is, so if he does return to Derby, we’ll need two, which I think is a tough ask...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Charlton Athletic Match Thread - Wednesday 26th Dec

I say it ever game, I bore myself, but we need to set up to be offensive, and use the pace and movement we have in the squad. The constant over cautiousness is massively impacting our performances, indivially and as team, and ultimately our league position. JCH is a waste of a shirt, we can’t...

Match Thread Shrewsbury Town vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 22nd Dec

While Bayliss has lacked a bit of form recently, there’s no way we can drop him, as we’d lose all attacking intent aside from Thomas. I think Bayliss is wasted on the wing, but as we have no alternatives, and it might take the pressure off him a bit, I’d put him and Thomas on the wings, with...

To be fair to the players, they’ve been awful and gutless, but if you’re set up to defend at home, what sort of confidence does that give you. It also gives them no freedom to play. I like MR, but his defensiveness is wearing thin.

Another touch of class from JCH. Your judgment of players is as on point as ever.

We look a really poor side today. The fact only Brown and to an extent Kelly have have looked ok says it all. Shipley has been ok in parts. Everyone else is either poor or anonymous. We need to actually play 4-3-3 or go two up front. Otherwise they are scoring again. They literally just have...

So defensive and clueless it’s unreal. Good job MR is great at HT team talks.

We’ve been awful offensively I agree, but he’s part of that. He isn’t offering anything and when he gets it hes poor. Everyone knows you are massively bias, but wind ups aside, Biamou would offer more.

Way too defensive, especially with JCH up front and isolated. Genuinely worried about the result, especially if they score one we’ve got no attacking intent at all. If if works fair enough, but it won’t. Unless we start to attack, the rare times we have, they don’t look too confident...

Looked over the line to me. Only thing we’ve done so far, but a good sign it caused issued. Surely evidence to MR to let us attack. Sitting deep is a stupid tactic.

Very defensive start, it’s a clear 4-1-4-1. If it works fine, but all it’s doing is inviting pressure. We haven’t had one attack or phase of play yet. Doesn’t bode well.

Glad CC has been given a rest and he’s giving Kelly/Bayliss another go. I’m also hoping Hiwula is given a chance up front. However, I think it’ll be a 4-3-3/4-5-1, which doesn’t inspire me, especially if JCH is the focal point and Hiwula is stuck out wide. Let’s hope this is his one in four...

Is Mason still injured? Really hoping he comes good, but Brown looks weak, especially on the ball. As I said before, attack and we’ll win.

Disappointing for him, both short and long term. Hopefully he recovers fully, physically and mentally. Selfishly I’m worried about the team. That now leaves us with one genuine winger, who we may lose in January. Anyone in the youth team close to being ready? Or could it lead to Bayliss or...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Luton Town Match Thread - Saturday 15th Dec

I say the same thing every time I comment on the match thread; if MR allows us to play football and attack we will do well. We have a lot of good footballers, plus pace across the team, which combined can cause issues. I’d go; Burge Sterling Willis Davies Brown (where’s Mason?) Thomas Kelly...
