EMC left, Wright central. But just having either on the pitch is a massive boost.
They're significantly different to MR, MR avg xG 1.46, xGA 1.08. Lampard (with EMC) xG 2.22, xGA 0.83. Lampard Overall xG 1.90, xGA 0.97
We'll be a completely different side when EMC and Wright are back.
The 6 games under Lampard where EMC was available our underlying stats were incredible and we were unlucky not to get more points (cheers Brad).
:ROFLMAO:
For the record I think Lati is a quality professional, I have never questioned his effort or dedication, I just don't think he has the attributes required to play the kind of football we need to be playing to get promoted out of this league.
Any of my criticism of Bassette has been that's he's not ready yet and needs to be eased in to this level of football more.
I've repeatedly said I'm happy he's at the club and think he has the potential to be a great player for us.
I'm not sure I really was other than saying Robins should go, and I try not to get involved in bashing players, especially for things like effort or performance levels.
I do think the impatience of our fans has had an effect on the players this season, at certain games there has been noticeable...
You don't have much empathy do you?
He's a 23 year old guy, all the outrage about performances gets a bit silly when you remember the players are actual humans at the end of the day.
I don't think Simms will ever be that effective coming off the bench.
He does need the team to be playing to his strengths which are quite different to our other strikers.
It's not an excuse, I'm not Ellis Simms lmao
Just trying to think about why he is not performing/scoring at the same level this season.
He's got very obvious limitations but I still think he can be very effective at this level and is worth keeping.
I can understand that, but I do wonder if it had an effect on Simms? Seeing 2 central strikers come in for decent money may have been playing on his mind
Just don't think our striker situation was managed very well in the summer and into the season.
Signing both BTA and Bassette is proving to be a waste of resources, one of the two would've been better.
Simms didn't set the world alight but finally got his goal v Watford, was then dropped for...
66/1 is hardly gambling if you think we’re in a relegation battle, it’s easy money. Lay it off near the end of the season and you’re not even risking anything.
Unless the bookies actually have it right and we’re in no danger of relegation of course.
I would think when they refer to fitness they’re probably talking about objective testing - eg lactate testing or similar.
You would hope that’s the level we’re at as a club. Obviously that doesn’t always directly translate to results on the pitch.
Said it on every single one of these threads.
You can get 66/1 on us to go down. Surely worth a fiver if you actually think we’re in trouble? Or are people just fear-mongering for effect…
