    Bayliss off?

Maybe you're right on the last point, certainly as far as Chaplin is concerned. But, I think it would be naive to dismiss the financial pressures, and we also don't know how much the 9 players we've brought in have cost the club, or for how long SISU will subsidise the move (if at all). I...

    Bayliss off?

We've sold two players who probably wouldn't have started tomorrow. I rate both highly, so it is disappointing. But, what do people expect? Revenues will be down by around £3 million this season because of a position forced on the football club. Are they wrong to try to keep the club solvent...

Match Thread Coventry City v Southend

I guess it does. It was just an observation, because I don't buy into the idea that you can spin playing in front of 5K at SA into a positive.

Match Thread Coventry City v Southend

I don't get this thinking. One thing that surprised me last season was how patient we were at home and how we rarely turned on the team, despite it being very frustrating at times. Sunderland by contrast lost once at home all season and their fans turned on them many times.

Match Thread Coventry City v Southend

Think that was a few days ago. They had sold 720 by yesterday morning, so are expecting to bring about 1000.

    Bayliss off?

It's fair to say that it's weaker than it was at the the end of last season, but no way is it weaker than the team that started last season. The opening day last season, we had Doyle, Ogogo and Andreu in the middle and Max playing lone striker. Sterling was very raw at that point and Hiwula...

    Season Ticket Sales

None of my 5 have arrived and they were ordered in 2 separate transactions, so I guess they're still being sent out, so wouldn't worry.

    Roll Call

What are you on about you maniac! I've never left a message and am not blocked. What gave you that idea? I don't give a toss really. I'm just commenting on the fact they have blocked a load of accounts because of a few snide comments. It's fucking twitter, it's a swamp. Just saying it's a bit...

    Roll Call

I think it's somewhat embarrassing that Wasps are blanket blocking not just those who have left salty messages, but also those who have liked or retweeted. Persistent offenders I get, but it's all a bit petty. They should deal with it the same way CCFC twitter deals with the smart-arse replies...

    Season Ticket Sales

While I'm loathed to agree with anyone who knocks this fine city, which is centre of the known universe after all, it is a more attractive away day. Will be easier to get to by train from many parts of the country too.

    Season Ticket Sales

The away maximum will be 5000. The average away following at the Ricoh was 1K, so if that's repeated (no reason why not, and it may actually be higher) I think it will be very difficult for us to not average 6K. But yes, there is the potential for the odd shocker, but overall 6K is probably...

Fan mentality on player purchases and wages

I'm sure if I went looking I could find people claiming, with absolute certainty, that SISU 'pocketed' the money. Don't know how do these people get through life.

    Hummell

Fruit and vegetables are not a good way of gauging scale become there is no standard size. I'd suggest something like a Findus Crispy Pancake or Pop Tart.

Fan mentality on player purchases and wages

It's infuriating. It baffles me that people don't get this. It is the sense of entitlement - this idea that we should be competing financially with a club that have sold 20,000 season tickets. We turnover £6.5 million a year, it's peanuts, and that will fall notably this year. It's testament...

    Season Ticket Sales

The club tweeted just under 2500 a day or so ago, but there was a bit of a flurry yesterday, so probably a couple of hundred on top of that in total. So maybe around 2700 in total inc corporate, with sales for Southend match currently around 3K based on your count.

    Poll:Attendance

No it doesn't, and I have seen very little of the 'true supporter' logic you mention. It is fine to ask questions though, and have a discussion about motives and reasons. I have friends who would attend with me at the Ricoh who are choosing not to go or perhaps only do the odd game. Fine...
