    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

Brilliant. Missed the fish and chips and mushy peas if we win. A time honoured tradition in our family which has sadly lapsed since the move from Highfield Rd. And the aspirin administered by the ladies for headaches when we lose.

Wonder if Covid took more out of him than we thought. He looks 4th striker choice at present.

    Brights contract cancelled

Ce la vie. The triumph of hope over reality. We hoped he could change and be a star. Club kept a lid on it and handled the whole business really well.

    Match Thread Hull City (A) - Sat 30th Oct - 3pm KO

Spot on, playing like that against better sides we will struggle. Take 3 points move on.

    Hull away

Also once the capital of England. Elizabeth 1 spent her childhood in Cov. Mary (not sure which one, may have been Mary Queen of Scots) was held prisoner in Coventry. First, and invented city twinning by the women of Coventry. Green party started in Coventry. Conceptualist Art birthed in...

    Hull away

I was surprised at the start of the season that the bookies had Hull at better odds than us. As others have said, we seriously need to improve our away form and on paper we should not have a better chance than at Hull. Thats screwed it then.

    Walker

Think a fit Godden is marginally ahead of Walker in terms of experience and the number of times he has played with our longer term players. Walkers time will come. Think Walker will always score goals but not necessarily contribute as much as Godden overall at present.

    Michael Rose

Thought Rose was arguably our best player in L1; it was rumoured Leeds were interested, and I was convinced he would be our best player in the Championship. MR described Rose as our best defender. Injury messed him up last season. I really don't think he is a scapegoat and somehow Hyam is the...

    What has happened

I really thought on Saturday he took too many touches particularly in the first half when he should have crossed first time. Probably coaching as thats what they do in the Prem. Make sure the cross is controlled rather than random, but sometimes a quick cross unsettles the opposition.

Dont go to the pubs near the docks, especially if they have a parrot up the corner.

    Crowd trouble

Was a pre-season game many years ago. On reflection, may have been Solihull Moors. In those days the smaller the club, the more they wanted to hit people. The point remains the same. Anyone who glorifies in violence or all this we gave them a running shit needs theirt head testing.

    Crowd trouble

As someone who came from a rough end of town that even in the 60s had a gang culture, went to school with Wood End, witnessed pointless Protestant and Catholic fighting back in the day. Has been attacked by mindless Man U, Blackburn, Arsenal and Forest Green fans just for wearing a city scarf...

    Match Thread Derby County (H)

Frustrating day. I am a big Kelly fan but apart from one good tackle when Derby were breaking down the right, I thought he was poor today. Think Gyo is not fully fit. Looks a shadow of his pre Blackburn form. Dont think Walker and Godden complement each other, but time will tell. We got lucky...

    Reality check

Disagree, there is a reason he is the most fouled player in the Championship and MR agrees that it is the only way they can stop him. They queue up to foul him (share the fouls so they don't get a yellow). The refs are drawn in every time. Add up all the times O'Hare is fouled and he gets...

    Reality check

Start of the season I thought we would make an incremental progress to lower mid table. What has happened so far has been awesome the away record being the only downside. There are a lot of dinosaur managers in the Championship and they are targeting our quality players with endless fouls and...

Match Thread PNE (A) Weds 20th Oct, 7.45

We lost there the season Jimmy Hill got us promoted I believe. Don't understand how bogey teams exist but they do. Outfought in the second half. Maa terrible miscontrol for their first goal. Our best players Gyo and O'Hare looked as if they were limping when they came out in the second half. Not...

    Loan Watch

Grimsby have a few big buggers. Any that would be good enough for us? The camera man seemed to have a thing for the rather attractive camera woman. Perhaps we should sign her to do our You Tube highlights.

    Championship 21/22

Absolutely, as we have seen money and big crowds doesn't guarantee success in the Championship and there would be a cracking atmosphere at both games. Would like them in the cup this year. Plus there will be a massive thread on here with some tasty insults. Whats not to like. On the other hand...

    David Speedie comments CWR

I knew some telephone engineers who were Villa fans and hooked up a loudspeaker to Ron's phone in the exchange to see if they could find out transfer info. All they got all the time was his wife unhappy what Ron was upto with his extra cirricular marriage activities.

    Best midfield pairing

Wonder who the Celtic scout was watching today as reported on CWR? Kelly is a good organiser and breaks up play. Great shot today for the equalizer. Hamer should get better and Sheaf as well. Rose dropped a bollock in the second half and got away with it, Sheaf didn't. Kelly and Hamer for me...
