I think there’s a chance if main transfer targets aren’t available/club unwilling to sell at our final offer they won’t buy for buying sake and take a punt on a couple of loans instead. Would certainly go in line with late business.

I would imagine it’s hard to find (or financially justify signing) players that seamlessly fit into our team without any quality drop off and tell them they’ll be on the bench until one of those scenarios you mention happen? No team in the EFL has that luxury.

If you read the comments on that X feed from PNE fans it doesn’t exactly strike confidence he will be any different to what we already have.

I can’t help but feel that the negatives that their fans talk about are very similar to the issues we currently have with our strikers, add to that he’s had an ACL. Only positive is he’s a free but I’d not be overjoyed if he was our starting no.9.

Work with a PNE ST holder, he reckons he’s always on the fringe of games and goes missing 4 games out of 5, also thinks we have a skewed view of him as he’s played well against us.
