If he has a good season with us, we make play offs, etc, he’ll be worth another £6/7m on whatever we’re paying. Sounds like if it makes commercial sense and benefits the team, Doug will go for it. Loans would clearly benefit the team but Doug isn’t interested as they’re a liability.

Because they’ve paid a sizeable transfer fee. I know they’ve got massive commercial revenues, and they’re always going to be over charged but their transfer business has been poor. They’ve signed a great, young player but given themselves no resale opportunity. Man City are laughing.

100% - Thomas needs a spell out the side for me. His concentration and decision making lets him down, otherwise he could be brilliant. For me he’s a better footballer and natural defender than Kitching but not as reliable and consistent with his performances.

I’m not sure why Rudoni would go to Southampton. They’re more likely to go up than us, but if they don’t go up it’s going to hinder his next move. They’ll want plenty of money and he’ll be on a long contract, whereas we either go up or he goes next summer. My worry would be a desperate PL club...

I thought he was excellent yesterday, had one dodgy clearance when under pressure, but otherwise for a 21 year old looked very good. He was also barking orders at Ajayi who’s 10 years his senior.

We need some wide options from the bench. Easy to say, but some young players (PL loans) who aren’t ready for regular starts but can give us a good 20 off the bench would be ideal.

It’s fair but my worry is if any striker will cut it when we’re slow and predictable with our build up play.

It can take time, we’re not the apex predator, and evidently we’re reliant on other deals happening first. I think the first two will happen, if we don’t bring anyone in then we can be dissatisfied, but we’ve no reason to think we won’t bring the players in.
