I think they'll be safe. Not sure a playoff push is on the cards. They've made a couple of solid signings, but nothing that's really wild quality. What Sunderland did last year was pretty rare, and that was mostly on the back of the Diallo signing (on top of a solid squad).
We've spent more money than we have done in a number of years. Not sure it's quite the same. I'd have preferred a few more in at this point but don't think we need to panic yet.
If we lost Hamer I'd be really worried. Think there would be a real chance of a bottom half finish (although don't think we'd get relegated).
That is, unless we got lucky and managed to replace him with someone similar.
