I'm not sure they will be that happy. The higher prices will do little to off-set the wasted expenditure for poor yield. On Clarkson's Farm, they are breaking down what everything costs, and their fertiliser cost alone is £78,000 this year!!

Germany's 2.Bundesliga had 8.9m total, but it's only 20 teams, so their average was 29K (so better than the Champ, which EFL don't mention). Heavily skewed by Schalke, Hamburg and Hertha Berlin, who all average over 50K (Schalke get 61K every week).

It is a very well-attended league. Compare it to the French Ligue 2, which had a total of just 3.24 million this season, albeit with 20 teams. But average gate was 8,535. Pathétique!

I reckon this is very likely the case, combined with the Cup Final showing the green shoots of recovery. Mind you, Man City were frankly hopeless against a very poor Chelsea in their semi, so they are probably told that the Prem and Champions' League are everything.

Been away for a few days so missed last Thursday's episode. Discussing with Mrs OSB what to watch after tea last night, and Taskmaster was not considered high enough among the options. Used to be "must-watch", now "meh". They have killed it with the frequency and lack of available talent. RIP
