Because it doesn't come at a serious cost. Around half of the Championship is reportedly in breach of the P&S rules. If half of the UK was avoiding tax then there's a fundamental flaw in the framework and it would have to change, no? I've mentioned at least 3 ideas to drive change but fine...

You seem to think scrapping FFP and no financial regulation are synonymous? Regulation will always be needed in the game, as without it all hell would break lose. Cheques and balances will always be required to stop rogue owners from crippling clubs. But the current format is quite clearly...

Online Gossip - Pompey want Shipley on loan

The issue is it's not a great time for clubs. Budgets will have mostly been used up and the vast majority of clubs lack the capital to pay fees anyway due to the financial fallout from Covid. The best we can hope for is someone takes him on loan and covers the majority of his wages.

Online Gossip - Pompey want Shipley on loan

He'll be a credit to any League One club whether that's Portsmouth or someone else. Shame he couldn't cut it in the Championship but it was quite clearly a step too far.

    Todd Kane

It might be strong in terms of actually having bodies there but it seriously lacks quality, apart from Dabo. Regardless of Kane's alleged attitude issues he provides experience and has a decent pedigree. LWB is an issue that is in needs of solving but as I previously stated we aren't just going...

I can only assume Dacosta is being moved on and in any case is just a walking accident, Pask often looked completely lost at RWB, and it's too early for Rowe to bring him into the fold. We don't have depth there at all.

    Todd Kane

Reading QPR's forum (and swimming through the hate and vitriol) there are a few comments suggesting that he does seem better at RWB than RB so I don't think he's necessarily an out-and-out full back and would fill in fine with the RWB role. There's obviously question marks over whether he can...

I think the issue is it entirely depends on who's available. There's no point just bringing in a random player who's simply not good enough otherwise we may as well just stick with Reid. Also, bringing in a loan who's solely a LWB will be difficult as realistically they'll be playing second...

    Very David Brent.

Is he hated by the players? The fans seem to have some weird agenda against him. I think he probably is quite arrogant - perhaps Chelsea syndrome - but if he had such a bad reputation surely Adi Viveash would put the breaks on bringing him in as I assume he would've coached him whilst at Chelsea.

Judging by the more sensible comments on social media (shock I know) and their forum it seems as if there's a talented player in there but he struggles with consistency. I think he'd be a good addition as a back up as he seems fairly versatile.

No one actually said that. Bizarre post.

You, as SBD is, are completely misreading my post and failing to understand so you aren't really 'unpacking' anything. Yes FFP should be scrapped as the framework itself is actually causing more problems than it solves and the vast majority, in the Championship especially, are increasingly...

    Derby

When have they ever offered financial help? They made a huge deal about refusing to help the EFL with a bail out until they were essentially forced to as PL owners believed the Championship especially had got themselves into their own mess and didn't deserve assistance. It was also a crap...

    Derby

Why would PL clubs complain about the lower divisions receiving a more proactive approach from the EFL - a completely separate competition I might add - to become more financially sustainable? Random arguement. With respect SBD and I apologise if this sounds condescending but you don't...

    Derby

I'm not really referencing the PL. As I've previously mentioned PL spending has grown to a point of no return. It's everyone else that's in need of assistance and the current framework isn't providing that.

    Derby

That in itself is a ridiculous arguement. Owners will always look at ways at bypassing rules. Stamping out rogue owners altogether from the game is a near-on impossibility. However, you can minimise the amount of rogue owners, or owners that dangerously overspend year on year. Your logic is...

    Derby

It's not a ridiculous arguement at all. The support for FFP is weirdly naive for the reasons I've already stated. Rogue owners either constantly look at ways (more often than not successfully) of bypassing the regulations or outright ignore them and overspend anyway. As a preventative measure...

    Derby

Agreed. FFP is actually a terrible deterrent as rogue owners either just openly ignore the various frameworks of the regulations throughout the pyramid or just attempt at finding loopholes in order to bypass them. A new system of financial control which will give clubs more freedom over their...

    Missing : Bright

Reading reports of how Robins dealt with him during his loan spell was interesting as I suspect (admittedly speculating here) that he largely let him do as he pleased whilst he was here because firstly, he wasn't our player and was only here for the short-term, and secondly, because he was...
