    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

"The Conservative party in Coventry has a policy of supporting Coventry City Football Club", is that a different Conservative party to the one which voted to sell Wasps the Ricoh?

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

We won't be far behind when furlough ends. I'm still off and had a look at what I'd qualify for in terms of benefits if the worst comes to the worst. I've got a relatively small mortgage, £560 a month, I'd get £410 a month on universal credit. Bizarrely if I was still renting and not a home...

    Sky Blue Trust AGM

Seems like one step forward ten steps back for the trust. Couple of recent statements that have made people a bit more optimistic things might be changing then they go and have an AGM that isn't broadcast, ridiculous in the current situation, and bring in someone like Bird.

Council meeting for Mark and I

IMO as much as we'd all like to know about things that went on in the past its of limited benefit in terms of moving things forward. Would rather persistent questioning to get an answer on key points than go in with a list of 50 questions, think that lets them brush aside the ones they don't...

Council meeting for Mark and I

He means the Wasps training ground. When they came here it was a promised new state of the art facility available to the public. That changed to booting our academy out of Higgs and doing a refurb. Then it was going to br at Old Leamingtonians, they evicted their tenants to make way for Wasps...

Council meeting for Mark and I

How much do they think the money given to Wasps will generate for the local economy and what is the basis for their claims? Why does the Ricoh need so much work to host a couple of days judo, is it not being properly maintained? Has the council analysed how much is lost to the local city each...

England Cricket Winter 19/20 (NZ, SA & SL)

Brilliant performance from Ireland but some sloppy bowling from England. Thought Ireland had blown it when England got 328 after being 44-3 but excellent batting performance and centuries for Stirling and Balbirnie,.

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

Well that's good news then as I'm sure he can supply a link to the minutes from the council meeting where they voted on the sale of the Ricoh to Wasps and lease extension that nobody has ever been able to track down.

    Sky Blue Trust AGM

Good to see in light of the current pandemic they made this easily accessible without turning up to a pub. Do we get to know what was in this wide ranging and passionate discussion or is it a secret?

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

It was what I was told by one of our clients lawyers who deals with the EC a lot. I assume he knows more about it than I do!

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

What you're saying is essentially what any EC investigation will deal with, if they decide to proceed. We all know it was one deal but the technicalities of the law in the UK mean it is treated as separate transactions. If the EC feel it should be treated as one then they will look at where UK...

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

Had a quick look to see if other games venues were getting similar funding but not much is turning up. Obviously they're practically rebuilding the Alex Stadium and there's a new Aquatics centre, both with obvious legacy benefits although you could argue about maintaining a dedicated athletics...

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

What facilities do think the Ricoh is lacking to host a couple of days of judo?

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

Well they have said it will cost £5.3m and so far they've had £5.2m from public funds towards it. So not a lot would be the answer.

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

Millions will be generated for the area by having a roof over some steps. Its what's been missing for years and clearly the cause of those huge losses.

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

This is ridiculous. How are Wasps claiming it is going to cost £5.3m to put a roof over some steps? Remember when the council claimed we couldn't have the 50% of the freehold promised because some of the Ricoh funding was grant money and that would be state aid. What is handing millions over to...

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

How did that meeting go? "Lads, we're losing millions every year, any ideas what we can do" "Put a roof over the stairs" "Brilliant, that will do the trick"

    Beer in your seat

Technology defiantly exists to order from your seat via an app and have it delivered to you. Did it years ago when I was at MSG for the ice hockey. If the tech worked fine 7 years ago it certainly shouldn't be a problem now.
