We would have been better off with Robins

Loathed to get involved in this thread as I hoped it would die a death but since it is now multi-page... Come the end of the season it will be interesting to compare with Luton who were faithful to their manager. Not a direct comparable but we were above them when Robins was sacked and frankly...

    WBA ratings

Torp looks at the level for me. Given that we should give either Sheaf or Eccles the break they look like they need. Bassette - he will come good but at the moment he is ineffective and hasn't really won us any games. It is a tough one as to whether you stick with him or you give Simms the...

    WBA ratings

Not fact checked this but WBA neighbour indicates he only played that role coz of injuries. That said he saw him more on the left of attack (so competition to Wright/EMC). Not v complementary about him tbh... but that is the bogies for you.

    Frank’s First Block of Five

I've just realised I was talking rubbish about 11 no longer being possible - it felt like a loss! 😂 Still on!

    Calm down

I'm telling you, mate - all started to unravel when Robins let Marvin Sordell go! 😡

    Relegation fodder

Never considered we might go down 3 weeks back but people are missing the most important thing - Lampard is already having an impact. Robins is never winning that penalty.

    Frank’s First Block of Five

Yeah, I am already bust. Can't possibly get 11 but rather than 'Shmmeee it' I'm going to double down. Had Millwall as a draw - now, shock win!

    Relegation fodder

It was bad today but actually from a relegation point of view an underserved point was actually an okay result. Kept Cardiff below us and somehow, despite not winning in the last 5 we have moved slightly up the table. Even up until few weeks back I measured us by points off the playoffs...

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

22/23 = 10 obviously 23/24 = 10 obviously These are the two absolute benchmark seasons. Nothing else in my life has come close. If anything 22/23 slightly lower. I never really believed that we were going up; the fact we somehow found ourself in the playoff final was kinda bizarre. 23/24 not...

Match Thread Coventry City - Cardiff City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Nov

Speculation here but I remember at the time thinking Wright hadn't really played more than 30 odd games a season and had picked up a couple of niggles pre transfer window. We also needed cover for tats. Obviously Wright then went on to make 50 appearances and loaning him back made the whole...

    Frank’s First Block of Five

Feel like I am setting him for a fall here but a good performance against Cardiff (which on paper is home win) and there is easily 11 points there.

Match Thread Coventry City - Cardiff City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Nov

Anyone old enough to have played against us in the premier league is no bubba. 😔 In fact he must be old enough to remember us winning the FA cup. He is the same age as Robins was in his second spell and it not like he has nothing on his CV. No rookie but no dinosaur. Probably a good age.

Match Thread Coventry City - Cardiff City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Nov

I'm not saying that Doug'll pick the team or anything but if I'm him, my biggest peeve with previous regime would be to see so many big investments on the bench week in week out. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dovin, Kitching, EMC, Simms given a chance to prove themselves. EMC in particular...

    Lampard and his connections

I'm not convinced there is going to be a massive shift on transfer policy. Austin outlined at the fans forum why we have no loans and FL mostly brought in players at Derby that had played for him the season before. Doug is probably hoping the Lampard name has a bit more gravitas in the transfer...

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

Would Sheaf not be Kante and Eccles Havertz? 😂

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

Interim manager is under massive pressure after results have dried up. Looks like a gimme... but football. :D

What’s your expectation for the new guy?

I believe Robins would have taken us up the table and pushed for play offs but that is untestable and irrelevant now. Lampard is in and we just have to judge him on the job he does. Reality now is that I have no real expectations. Just going to take it game by game and see where we end up.
