Where's Jarni?

Not a sniff of a quote from anyone at Newcastle to back up this story. Piss poor journalism from The Sun, piss poor and lazy from CT!

FFS, some of the comments in this thread.

Local newspaper's "Rumour Mill" section contains rumours shocker!

It's rare enough we get national press, mostly that thing is filled with guesses off here.

Its no shocker that Newcastle would consider not sending him back in Jan, i mean at the minute they must be considering everything including SM contract!!. And for me that's going to be the deciding factor if he SM stays they start to win Armstrong will be here all season. If a new man comes in he will want to see Armstrong as Liverpool wanted to see Kent. Its common sense not even a rumour that they are considering it.

No news story or slow day in the press either way, we all want him to stay and i'm sure the squad would feel it if he left. Sadly this is where the loan rule hurts in the end as we can't effect the outcome, either way i think he will be playing in the championship next year.

Think we could do with Mcclown getting sacked. In his desperation to keep his job he may just say fuck it get Armstrong back, he may perform miracles. Whereas a new manager wouldn't be under that kind of pressure, therefore would probably be less inclined to recall him.

Look, I'm no expert, my football knowledge is very limited. It's clear AA is a fantastic prospect and has done very well in the 3rd tier.

However, what's his mentality going to be like, knowing all the hype that would be built up if he went back, all the press clamoring for his return, thousands of screaming Geordies anticipating he scores the winner in every game? He's still a kid and there will be so much riding on his shoulders, who would want to risk that when you look at the shit load of money up for grabs in the prem -what it is to be soon, £100M a season?

Surely to god the people who own Newcastle would want to ensure they get that silly amount. Would anybody sensible pin their hopes on a wonder kid who may get eaten alive at that level? Or would they go for broke, delve into the next window, give McClaren a few a few bob to sign some proven talent to get them out the shit.

It's all going to be a bit desperate if they think an 18 year old kid is suddenly going to solve all their Premier League goalscoring problems.

Be no pressure on Armstrong, eh!

But that's just it, Otis. Things are a bit desperate for Newcastle - At the moment. There's six or seven weeks to go before AA's planned recall. So much can change in fortune for them (hopefully) in that space of time which will clearly benefit us. If it doesn't, then desperation is the name of your 'twelfth man'. I think, in all honesty even given the gulf in terms of quality between our respective divisions, Newcastle would be mad not to recall him to try help dig them out of a hole, if his goal scoring exploits continue.
I've got round to just accepting he will be returning to the NE in Jan, regardless of Newcastle's league status. If he doesn't, then what an incredible bonus for us!

Christmas period will be key but I think he needs to look for an alternative if he does go back.
