Just caught him moaning again saying we are deluded and have yet another player on loan and the mighty Micky Quinn siding with him! Not impressed with that. I've missed the whole thing so what exactly is his point? Hasn't most teams in leave 1 full of loan players?

Every team has loans - just we're better than others at the moment with the players we've got.

Last year, we've had the likes of Seb Hines, Josh McQuiod, Mohammend Coulibaly, Ryan Alsop, Frank Nouble - where was Adrian Durham then?

Clearly its not over half the team. At most its 5 out of 11 and that assumes everyone is available and selected.

Its not for the likes of us to solve the issues with loans. We've playing with the same rules as anyone else. Was he moaning everyday when we had Akpom going back and forward so he could play for Arsenal youth or when we at the bottom of the table worrying about relegation?

Only a few names on Talk Radio were any good. Haven't listened to the garbage since they turned it into a commercial Radio 5

Cracks me up with Quinny chipping in. Loved him as a player, as a radio host he's a Geordie loving ballbag.

His job is to create stories from nothing. We are doing quite well so it's our turn. Enjoy it if anything.

Darren Ferguson was a crap manager Durham conveniently forgets that they got promoted out of this league when he had the pick of his dad's loans. The problem is the more this tool goes on about it on a national station, the more momentum will gather and the hate increase. This kind of agenda should be blocked but commercial station and he's domehow allowed to spout his drivel.

Yeah I must admit I love it when Durham talks about us, shows we are worth talking about because we're riding high at present and people want to play for us! And of course we whalloped Peterborough 3-2!!

We have every chance of keeping Bigi if Mowbray wants him. Might sound crazy but maybe Cole as well on a deal involving some sort of coaching role.
Murphy here for the season, expecting Kent and Turner to go back January. Possibly Armstrong as well but the noises coming from them have been positive so outside chance of keeping him till the end of the season.

Errm, probably the best 2 players that are ours are out injured (Maddison and Reda Johnson).

What does he expect us to do, to not try and replace them? We can't afford to buy in players as replacements when these are our own contracted players and we are expecting back fit at some point!

We then also have Willis out injured long term too. If you have a small squad it is impossible to cope without bringing loans in, so Kent has been brought in for Maddison and if Turner comes, it will be in for Johnson/Willis.

If our players weren't out on long term injuries we wouldn't have brought many loan players in.

There have been people on here and on CWR phone-in complaining we had too many loans - but that was last year when they weren't as effective. We are helping out Prem and Champ teams by giving match day experience to their young and recovering players. We should be praised.

We should indeed be praised. With all the money in football, big premier league squads, best players imported from all over the world. It is only when players like Kent and Armstrong and Murphy move to clubs like ours that they get an opportunity to show what they can do. Without the loan system at the present some potentially great players could never force their way into the limelight.

The loan system is a resource clubs can use to improve their squads and ultimately support them in achieving their objectives.

We are doing just that.

Nothing illegal and certainly nothing to moan about, unless you work for a radio station that aims to create "controversy". It's a compliment really.

Marcus, he commented on it and said it was likely we'd sign Turner in January so he believed it wasn't a bad deal there. But one of the Gills fans said we're building a siege mentality due to their comments. Shame they missed the mark as its Durham who began the farce. But its a perfectly valid point. Siege mentalities have worked at other clubs (Manure, Chelski etc). If TM can play a few of Durham's shows and get that motivation going in the changing room too, we may be on to something :)

Yeah - that was me that phoned in. Had to; Durham was talking such sh1te. The whole problem the England team has is that English youngsters sit in the reserves of Premier League teams not getting a game, so Hodgson has too few players to choose from.

It's bizarre that he keeps picking on us every week. Must be really short of things to talk about.

If any set of fans deserves some exciting loans and to have a promotion challenge it's us. No club can possibly have finished outside the top 6 of every league they've been in since 1967 like we have!

I'm sure everyone would rather have a squad of signed players as good as we have on loan but that's not possible.

For me TM is showing how to perfectly use the loan system. He got the base of his squad together then added in players like Armstrong. As he pointed out at the time clubs like us can't afford to buy players who can score 20 goals so a loan is the only option.

Since then its being taking the chance to strengthen or cover an injury when available.

Our record when the loan players bugger off for internationals shows we aren't totally reliant on them.

The good old days when teams had lifers or at least 100% settled stars. (Think George Curtis and more recently Trevor Peake) are over.
The number of loanees is not what's important. It still takes a great Manager to
a) have the influence and contacts to be able to actually get the players in
and more important
b) having the ability to turn a group of here today gone tomorrow future potentials into a real team that has the skill and heart to compete together.

Well Done that Man.

Exactly Johhny! He's got in players with something to prove or that care about the club in Turner and Bigi's cases. Joe Cole might not have much to prove, but his talent is out of this world for League 1. To make all these guys gel is impressive, and networking isn't a skill that people should belittle.
