Hayes and Yeading manager, left because they're one place above the relegation zone, certainly not leaving to join us

Not sure how true but while at LFC he was nailing a page 3 model and thought he was big time only to find out half the squad had been there before hand!!!!!!Mind you if this is true i don't blame him for feeling this way,,, at a top club, earning top money and shagging a model....

That was my first thought when i got told, lucky bastard, because i never thought he was that great of a player or looker!!!!!!!!!......But then again not into men or money so i suppose it wouldn't matter what i thought on this matter or any other matter come to think about it.......

why? He was outstanding for us. In fact him and Atherton were great together. Why we played PA at right back I don't know. We always play people out of position.

I thought he was a fantastic player and I my opinion (worth nothing) pretty much the best centre back we have had since Trevor Peake.

I thought he was decent for us,,, but most expensive defender in Britain when liverpool signed him, i didn't see that in him..

Was he ours when playing in the '94 WC? I can't remember if I was proud that he was ours or was soon to be ours or something like that.

Think it was around the time that Alexei Lallas was supposed to be joining us as well. Another Joe Cole.

He was and the big move to Liverpool was probably partly off the back of that.

I loved that Babb and Atherton partnership; from Bradford and Wigan respectively, but top quality in the highest division!

I remember when he was being sold and I was at a fans forum and met Richardson as while he was standing outside and asked him if he was selling Babb and he said no chance soon after gone.

that wouldnt happen now

We certainly wouldn't buy another player with the money we would bring a loan player in from Bedworth United,
I am starting to think we will be loaning them from Coventry United soon!

We didat least buy Dublin with some of the cash.

I laughed when I heard we had bought Dublin. I'd seen him the season before several times with a Cambridge supporting mate on their cup run and whilst he was decent at that level I never saw Premiership in him. I was wrong.
