Am I right in thinking we don't actually get any money for this ?

What happened to Timmy's 6 figure sponsorship deal ?

If we have been paid in training aids at least it means SISU's football team will get the benefit rather than SISU's legal team. Every cloud and all that.

no one knows it for a fact, but normally these press releases mention money, this press release only mentions technology both in the quotes from the club and in the quotes from the sponsor. As a Coventry fan we should all be experts at reading between the lines by now and that there is just as much information in how something is said and in what is not said.

So let's say they disclose the fee, we then get 1,000 questions on the subject of where that money is going and how it is being spent, etc..

Is there any wonder why it hasn't been disclosed?

If you read the words, there is no other interpretation of them other then it being an in-kind relationship. I can point to much that insinuates it's nothing more. Can you point to anything that claims it has a financial value?

alot of these press releases don't disclose the fee but they normally say something like substantial six figure sum. the quotes from both sides do nothing but talk about technology and so while we don't know it for a fact it strongly suggests it.

Maybe it's because it doesn't have a value to disclose?

Why keep on giving SISU the benefit if the doubt? They were quick top talk about the 'significant sum' placed with their solicitors, awaiting FL confirmation. It's not like they don't use ambiguities when it suits them, is it?

Maybe it does and your assumptions are based on a guess and not fact?

Okay. Where does it mention 'sponsorship', or any income whatsoever in this?

Steve Waggott, the club’s development director, said: “This is a major commercial agreement which will give Steven and his staff access to some of the most cutting-edge fitness and performance monitoring services available in sport.

Or this:

“This deal has allowed us to sign this partnership agreement – something that ordinarily would be way beyond our budget. We are very much looking forward to the start of what we believe will be a very fruitful relationship with STATsports.”

Or this:

STATsports founder and managing director Alan Clarke said: “"We are delighted to begin our partnership with Coventry City Football Club, a club with an iconic and fantastic history. As part of our relationship it will be our privilege to supply our technology to the club from first team down to academy level.”

From both sides, it uses every term other than 'sponsorship', and doesn't make reference to any monetary value whatsoever.

Face it; it's not cash in; is it?

Jesus, just face facts, nobody is going to touch us financially with a barge pole, this deal is in kind, name on "away shirts and home shorts only" is the biggest clue in that fact.

We got a sponsor thats all that matters, it defo makes the shirts look better. Unfortunately we will not get decent sponsors where 6 figures are involved until we get back to playing at the Ricoh and probably when SISU depart.

If we were benefiting financially sisu would be the first to tell us that's for sure to brag.

No company in their right mind would support us financially.

Think this somewhat gives it away no mention of deal it mentions relationship. Great terminology for a sponsorship deal

I do not give A fart about a sponsor.
Our club is crumbling around our feet and our owners try and get a bit of PR about a sponsor. some might care means nothing to me.

Why do you care so much that there is a chance somewhere that someone would want to invest in the brand CCFC whilst all of this crap is going on?

They could have said an undisclosed amount if money had changed hands. They didn't even try that one so it suggests to me that no money is changing hands.
