  1. You hate Coventry City
Maybe you’re a Leicester or Villa fan; maybe you’re a Middlesbrough or Sunderland fan with a long memory; or maybe you just have an irrational hatred of the Sky Blues. What better way to publicly display your loathing of the club than by handing over your cash to those doing their best to destroy it?

  1. You think SISU are doing a great job
It’s a controversial opinion for sure, but maybe you think that taking a club from the top half of the Championship to the bottom of League One, and lowering the average attendance from nearly 20,000 to under 2,000 in just 5 years, is some kind of achievement? Or maybe you’ve just got a thing for aloof blondes?

  1. You love hedge funds
You’re a committed capitalist and Thatcherite, and you believe in unregulated financial markets. The thought of a tax-dodging Cayman Islands-based hedge fund trying to destroy a much-loved 130-year old football club and trying to bankrupt a local children’s charity purely to make a profit on a piece of commercial property is ideological nirvana to you.

  1. You think Sixfields is better than the Ricoh
Why would you want to watch the Sky Blues in a state-of-the-art, 32,000-seater stadium inconveniently located within the city of Coventry, when you can drive 35 miles to an 8,000-capacity tin shed?

  1. You enjoy going to Northampton
Ah, Northampton. Birthplace of Faye Tozer and Robert “Kryten” Llewellyn. Mecca of British shoemaking. Home of Greyfriars Bus Station. What better way to spend a Saturday/Sunday than combine all this culture with watching the Sky Blues?

  1. You hate crowds & noise
Big crowds make you feel uncomfortable, and loud noise gets on your nerves. Well, in that case Sixfields is the perfect place for you – 6,000 empty seats means an afternoon of idyllic peace & quiet.

  1. You’re naturally selfish
So Coventry City are being destroyed by a corrupt hedge fund – why should you care? You want to watch football at the weekend and you won’t let anyone stand in your way! After all, you’re far more important than some crappy football club. And when that football club disappears, you can just go to the Walkers Stadium or Villa Park instead! With your lack of loyalty & principles, it’ll be no problem for you.

  1. “You’ve got to support the lads”
Yes, whatever happens you’ve got to support the lads. So when the club dies, and you have no lads left to support, at least you can console yourself in the knowledge that you supported them while they were there, whilst those NOPM idiots were busy trying to “save” the club. Good for you!

  1. You believe the move is only temporary
We’ll only be in Northampton for 3 years, right? Whilst SISU build their new stadium? The one for which they haven’t even applied for planning permission yet? The stadium they’re so committed to whilst trying everything they can to get their hands on the Ricoh? OK, maybe it’ll be 5 years. But then we’ll have that nice shiny new stadium, right?
1.You believe protesting doesn’t achieve anything

You think the best way to get the club home is to hand your money over to the owners, whilst mocking the efforts of those organizing the protests. If the club comes home, you’ll take your seat in the Ricoh and act like you were right all along. If the club dies, you’ll blame those who boycotted Sixfields. You’re an idiot.

Borrowed. Covers all bases.

Here we go again... Cant you just accept that people have their own views on supporting the team and doing what they feel is right?

I personally don't go Sixfields, and I won't, but we shouldn't be in-fighting and saying "These people shouldn't go", etc. End of the day, its their own decision.

Some people protest. Some march. Some don't go games at all. Some are NOPM. Some are away days only. Some are people who go Sixfields. Some watch from the Hill. But 1 thing is common - we are all Sky Blue.

I understand Villa, Leicester and Sunderland but Middlesbrough? Why would they have any hard feelings towards us? I'm only a young(ish) fan so can you fill me in?

Middlesborough were relegated instead of CCFC back in the 90's. They postponed a fixture against Blackburn and had a points deduction for doing it.

All of the above. Also, don't forget we also don't have to look at moaning people like you anymore.

Great post Gosford Green.

Although you forgot:-

1. Like to be different.

You have no qualities of note to your personality so you deliberately go against the grain for attention to get some time in the sunshine.

Better than the sheep who decide their course of action because Facebook or a fucking message board tells them what to do. Like you.

That's true. Sixfields would have been a sell out if it weren't for those pesky Facebook and message board pages.

A hedge fund that prides itself on battering people out smarted by someone moaning with access to fucking message boards.
