Paying debts and things like that should be part of the negotiation. That's the whole point of a negotiation.

Both sides have said they want Cov at the Ricoh. So why the hell are they doing their talks through the media, I find it incredibly unprofessional.

There should be no preconditions to talks.

The aim should at first be a short term return to the Ricoh while negotiations on F&B and other revenue continue.

The club and ACL should be pushed to create a deal that means even on crowds of 2000, the club is better off at the Ricoh than Sixfields, even if it means ACL taking a temporary hit, I'm sure it'll be evened out by other increased revenue.

A fixed deadline should be agreed for talks to be concluded by.

If talks are not concluded by this point (I suggest end of this season), ACL should extend the current deal for 3-5 years while CCFC build a new ground. CCC should be fully supportive of this new ground and CCFC should be open and honest will all stakeholders.

Can we not..................................soooooo bored of all this now!! talk about football only please, nothing said (repeat-ably) on here will alter what will or will not happen.

Lets have some footie chat for a change, I come on here to see the latest transfer gossip etc and instead just the same crap spouted on, same squabbles - BORING

Why talk about transfer gossip? Nothing said on here will change who will or won't sign? ;)

Err...didn't the SBT open letter (published in the Telegraph) already cover this...

No, it lumped Sisu's and ACL's demands in with it's own for talks. What OP is asking, and I agree, is how can we have talks if there are preconditions that by definition need to be negotiated? Surely we should start just with talks, ideally focussed on a short term return. The rest will be part of those talks.

Fair enough.....I've grown weary of it all...guess I glazed over whilst reading it...

Smiley, we'd all like to talk football, players coming in etc.
The cold reality is most CCFC fans won't see any of the new signings play.
Sorry to rain on your lovely optimism, but it's the stark fact.

Cheers, fair point.....but seriously every day I check in and it appears the same discussions go around in slightly different formats!! Even if we get a transfer spec or football related chat going, it isn't long before that is turned and someone bitches about someone else. They are called a lover of ANY of the parties involved and away we go again!! The new post re; signing announcement is going off topic already ha ha

Surely now one of the main things holding up talks is the outstanding £590k.

Now as that is with the FL, why is there not a media shit storm going on as it is currently the FL that is preventing a return to Coventry?

IMO now it is with the FL, there is no reason why it should hold up talks. It's now up to the FL to decide how much ACL should be paid.

The fact that the money is with the FL means that ACL should be dropping that condition from their openness to negotiation. All that then remains is for SISU to end the appeal and it can begin.

They did decide on it, £590k wasn't it. FL put the payment through because that is what they said, if there has been an overpayment then claim it back because ACL have done it before haven't they (was it rebates). Once done (as Ian say's above) drop legal shit because everyone knows it is flogging a dead horse and no hurdles, everyone talks. To be honest though and I don't know why the FL didn't do it when they first came up with this plan, should have got the money then in return for the Golden Share and payed it straight to ACL.

You would have thought the FL could have got their shit together and arranged a meeting before the 7th August to sort the money issue out!

Yes FL should have asked for it up front. But again that shouldn't stop ACL from talks. There should be no preconditions to talks.

The FL league have brought this on themselves, I have no idea why they made it a condition, ACL waived their legal right to that when they rejected the CVA. Would have been better asking for a payment then investing it in grass roots.

(ACL didn't put the rebate through, it was the council)

Totally agree
They have always stated their preferred option was a quicker return to Coventry

Jan can the Trust do the same?

Fl should receive some pressure as well
They should have a meeting ASAP and do something for the fans of Coventry for once

Why just say that about ACL and talks? Fisher said recently that the club is ready to talk and the clubs proposal is very simple, a fair rent and access to match day revenues. That almost sounds to me like a precondition of talks. However, you still haven't answered the question I asked you the other day. If you were in ACL's shoes and after all the shit Sisu have pulled, would you not ask them to pay what they owe and drop the stupid legal stuff before you sat down with them or would you trust them on their word?

Most on here know that I hold SISU 99% responsible for our situation.
However regarding negotiations I hold both sides equally responsible. It is disrespectful to us fans that both sides are stating their cases via the media and not face to face. It is unprofessional and they owe us fans the respect after what we have been through to have a simple face to face meeting.

Agree to a point - but it is SISU who need to make the approach - a bit like if you want to buy my car - you have to make me an offer. I'm not going to come to you, especially if you've already tried to shaft me (metaphorically:(). SHOW ME THE MONEY !!
