Sorry folk. Battery went. Glad there were others who joined the thread in time for the shoot out :D

Overall, a 0-0 draw for a league game would have been good. In a one-tie cup game, it wasn't.

Moussa's pen was poor. Flecks even worse. Flecks was a grass cutter. Best way to describe it.

Never mind.

At least it's safe to say the club have enough paint for their new superstore :)

Missed opportunity tonight. Just look at all the teams who have got knocked out, Wolves, Brentford, Sheff Utd, Southend, Preston, Crewe, Mk Dons, Bristol City...we'd have been favs if we'd won tonight!

Mate, the iPhone has about as much battery power as Cody and Eastwood put together. HTC one is where it's at ;)

Piss poor evenings entertainment. I find it difficult watching when I don't really give a shit whether we win or lose (doesn't happen often). Bring on Sunday on Sky.

Ha! So true. My previous phone was a HTC Desire. Done me well for a few years, but thought that battery was bad (until I got an iPhone that was).

Do like the look of the HTC one.

However all my music is via iTunes so reckon that come January, I'll be wanting to stay with apple as I'd be too lazy to try and transfer it from apple (iOS) to Android (if that's possible....)

What a load of dirge that was. 90 minutes without their goalkeeper having to make a single save, the only players to enhance their reputations were Baker and Christie. More worrying was to hear Pressley's comments this morning describing the performance as tremendous, if that was a tremendous performance then God help us. It encapsulates just how low we have sunk, the fact that performance was deemed even decent by our manager.
The game was perfectly summed up by utter farce that happened in the 1 minute of extra time at the end of the first half. Awarded a free kick into injury time in a dangerous position, instead of trying to put a decent ball into the box, they tried to take a quick free kick, ending up with a City player actually picking up the quick pass.
More worrying was the poor marking at set pieces. One such free kick in the 2nd half, saw a Orient player without a City player within 5 yards having a free header about 6 yards from goal.
For us fans who don't go to Sixfields, it is hard to reconcile the last few away games particularly the 2nd half showings, with the supposed non stop attacking apparently witnessed at Sixfields. We certainly clearly missed Christie's attacking threat last night, and for all Baker's inconsistencies he offers far more threat than Barton who was anonymous.

i didn't think it was too bad. we controlled the game at times, it was just so clear that every player out there was looking for christie's outlet every time. really hope he's back soon, because the team play everything through him.

the build up play was good but its the final ball too much dolling around in and around the box

says it all when the whole it shouting shoot the free kick in injury time was farcical. i like watching good attractive football but this is going OTT in my eyes

There was a lot of "pretty" build-up play, lots of nice 1-2s and short balls to feet around the edge of their box... But yeah, it was the quality final ball that was lacking. I think a lot of this was to do with how good the Orient defenders were, to be fair. Clarke and Wilson weren't given an inch.

true i wasn't impressed with barton again, hes not a winger so why play him there?

shame clarke or wilson didn't put more pressure on the O's keeper

desperately missed baker and Christie last night

I think its unfair to be too critical of Barton. He was asked to cover the right hand side on two consecutive occasions, and then asked to play on the left; neither of which are his 'natural' position.

I understand that SP doesn't want to keep tweaking his squad every game but he if he can't play players in their favoured position, I think changes are sometimes needed. Daniels would have probably been better suited for yesterday's game, but I suppose with him just coming back from Injury, it may have been a bit too much to ask him to start (yes I realise Daniels is not a winger either but did do relatively well before when covering for Baker)

This is the worry, lack of depth. Two key players missing and all of a sudden we're playing kids and/or players out of position to cover. Over a 46 game season that is going to take its toll imo, and without wanting to turn this into another SISU out thread, will they try and offload even more players given that income streams are lower than they forecast?

Our lack of depth is why I wish SP would utilise the loan system a bit more. I understand he doesn't want short term resolutions, and wants to use our own kids / players, but if we are struggling in a certain department, I.e left or right midfield (as Moussa isn't a winger, and we don't have anyone to replace Baker when he's out) why not bring someone in?

I don't think they will actively try and offload players but if come January players like Moussa, Christie and Wilson (all contracts up at the end of the season) have still not committed to a new deal then it is possible they could go.

i can see where your coming from , but i feel the team are carrying barton in that position for me last night i would have liked to have seen that rangers young lad given a chance at CB and moved Jordan clarke in a more forward wide position overlapping with either willis or adams plus gave 1 or 2 kids a run out like Haynes and Lobjot. last night, we didnt create anything really except for that chance wilson had when he was about to pull the trigger and pulled back

I agree. He is carried at times but I do think its because of him being unfamiliar with the position.

We definitely lacked width as Willis didn't tend to get forward that much. Phillips on the other hand when he came on did

yes Phillips looked far more attacking plus though it was moussa's poorest game for a while. He didn't like playing that side, its all good and well playing attractive football but no end product makes it fruitless

I think last night showed that Willis is not an option at RB. Offered absolutely nothing going forwards. Yes he has big shoes to fill in terms of Christie's attacking play, and perhaps he was told not to get forwards, but he wasn't great on the ball.

Phillips looked much better in his short spell.

No doubt Willis has a good future ahead of him, just not at RB.

FFP means CCFC should be the team with the smallest allowable wage bill in this league, so I'd guess there is simply no more in the pot until someone is sold or loaned out.
