Have we put £20m in the bin on Tchaouna? (1 Viewer)

Personally I think Tuna will be fine. So far we’ve tried to write all our new signings off but by and large they’ve been fine. We won’t have got it wrong with him.
We might have got it wrong, not every signing is a success. It is concerning that at £20m he can't get on the bench. The fact Burnley made a huge profit on him in one season in which he was really poor suggests we have grossly overpaid for him (signed for £12m sold for £20m).

There’s a player and hopefully the coaching staff will get him to where we need him.

He looked good first two games. He's very engaged on social media so he does care. It's an odd one but as I said yesterday, if Gboho has fallen out with Frank, he's put that right so no reason why Tuna can't

We haven’t spent £20 million on him. A deal “may” get close to that number if all metrics where met. In which case he and we will have done very well!

Anyone think king will have just been happy to splash £20million hard cash on him 😂

If he cant get near the match day squad when we have 5 players out Injured, and EMC and BTA are ahead of him and even they arnt starting, then I think the writing is on the wall for him.

Precisely this. If the media reports at the time are to be believed, Lampard made his signing a priority and has clearly stated that both player and club are working hard to gel. Trust Lampard's judgement

Just because that transfer nonce says it in a tweet doesn’t make it gospel tbf.

No i agree, but it is fact that Lampard said in a press conference that there was no issue with the player and he was working hard to get up to speed with the way we train and play.

did he look good?

The fact Gboho went from nowhere to starting should give Tchou hope. Lampard seemed a lot more positive in regards to Tchou and the club too

Just give him a chance man, see what he's looking like in a couple of months. First aim is to get back in the squad then challenge for that starting position. Much rather he's coming on for Sakamoto than BTA personally but clearly Lampard thinks he needs to show more.

We haven't paid £20m for him and definitely won't do if the signing isn't a success.

Don't think we really needed EMC on the bench yesterday when we had BTA who can cover all the way across the Front 3, although after yesterday's performance he shouldn't be on the bench next week. In addition we had 2 Centre Forwards on the bench so could easily have changed BTA for EMC amongst the subs, and had Tchaouna. Also, they probably think that KKH can cover both MVE & Saka.

Lampard again alluded to some not showing same levels of work ethic and respect when he was praising saka. Prob touchana but can't say for sure. Hopefully we can use everyone on squad when need be though

You cant compete in this league if you don't have everyone buxing in. If a team is winning the only way in is to show in training you are willing to fight. This is not about the players ability, its about his desire to show his worth. His reaction to decisions made if negative will be looked down upon not only by coaches but players who are putting in to effect keep him on prem wages.

Its grow up or move on, either way the club will come out on top.
