I don't mind Grimes playing if we go 3 CB's because that will stop him dropping deep, he's much better further up the pitch with Oneyka screening like the second half of last season. Add Yirenkyi into that trio and it can work. The issue we had at Arsenal was Frank was the advanced CM pressing which is wrong IMO, he should be the protector and let Grimes and Yirenkyi play slightly ahead.
Having said that, away from home or games we have much less possession in, Grimes offers nothing defensively and is a bit of a passenger. Never affected us last season as we dominated the ball most games, won't be the case in this league.
I agree with Torp, Grimes and Gus should never be on the pitch together, they were trying to do the same thing Saturday. Yirenkyi should have stayed on with Grimes going off instead. Hull had just made changes to combat Yirenkyi as he was having joy driving forward with the ball.
