Don't know if this has been mentioned i ain't read through any threads. Just got back from Crewe, only really went for a day out and didn't really to go through to be honest and even when we got the second with a couple of minutes to go i thought it was still too little too late, but we got that free kick and i thought msybe just maybe and you had to be there to have a real insight, Crewe's back legs had gone we wanted a decent delivery onto the penalty spot and who knows but that ARSEHOLE McSheffrey after taking an age to spot the ball couldn't clear the first defender, i can't get it out of my mind, what a twat. A 4million pound player once upon a time, i've shit 'em

Aww one bad free kick get over it

He was pretty poor tonight. The moment that really annoyed and to some extent worried me was in the second half. Dickinson had it and was looking for Clarke. Now obviously this seemed to be a favoured tactic, but McSheffery was on the left wing with no Crewe player near him. It was a fairly easy pass, Dickinson simply hadn't spotted it. If that was me, I would've been screaming for it, but McSheffery just stood and watched. I'd rest him on Saturday, because his confidence seems to have gone more than anything else.

I've never half much faith in him. Too selfish for my liking and tonight on the stands he stood out as being out of the game. Baker was too but no fault of his own.

So every time a player has a bad game he shouldn't play for us again? They will be grabbing fans from the stands to play very soon if that is the case.

If our players had a good game every game they wouldn't be our players for long.

I don't agree with dropping Baker, but Sheffers has been poor all season, I can't remember Sheffers having a good game and at this level you expect better of him..

One game? He's been shit all season. The bloke only plays in second gear at best, he needs to go.

to be fair he was awful last night, and i really thought he has been subbed - had not kicked the ball in 30 minutes in the 2nd half - really had to make sure he was still there

very very poor performance

Let's face facts.

Sheff has been poor at times. Trouble is, we have no-one to come in and fill that role.

We tried Mouss there, it didn't work and he looked lost. We tried Fleck there but he is wasted and it is not his position.

Pretty sure that if we had competition for that slot then Sheff would have been dropped on a few occasions.

In the crazy excitement of the injury time goal avalanche, I jsut cannot be sure who took that free kick . Either McSheffrey or Baker. It was a woeful attempt because Crewe were in panic mode.

So if its true is was GM that was ANOTHER black mark to his performance. He was really poor ALL night as he was at Bury. Just isnt doing all the basics right and I agree he is finished as a Sky Blues player Im afraid. He really should be doing better than this with about 12 years experience in the game.

It wasnt just the free kick by any means.

Also showed that Lee Carsley isnt up to speed with manager job by keeping him on in both recent games.

However the thread text I would never pick McSheffrey again , I dont agree with.

Yes he should be dropped and someone else brought in. However of course if injuries occur or his form improves outside the first team, then off course he can play for us again. However if his contract is up I would not expect him to be offered another contract.

did you notice how crewe were marking Bakes? Double up & 3 timing most of the night we were lucky to see him in the game at all, most sides seem to pick out Baker as he has a tendancy to try an beat the world and should draw the players away and pass the ball infield, I do think Sheffers is carrying an injury and really needs to stand up and be honest and rest the injury its doing him or the fans attitude toward him no good what so ever.

Its about time we did throw ins on the training ground! we must be the only team in the league that find throwins a disadvantage.
We are Shite at them! such an easy thng to address really and it keeps the pressure off if weretain the ball from our throw ins SIMPLES!!!!!

I too believe shef is carrying and injury. id rather he come out and say so, have a couple of weeks out and come back for the final push, that may include playoffs and if we've players all injury free and good to go there is no reason why we won't do well. just be honest.

At Sheffrey's age he is going to find it hard to play once a week let alone twice. He's lost a few pounds but just cannot recover in time - not physically possible.
When fit he offers something different but not even close at the moment and this has been the case for over a year ffs.

According to CWR it was baker that took the free kick.

However I do agree shufflers should be dropped not been good enough. Try fleck again.

I couldn't agree more, slow, lightweight and you would be hard pushed to find a player in the history of the game who tackles as badly. One solitary goal in open play is a pitiful return for a player who actually played at Premiership level.Largely annonymous for periods of the game,it is hard to see how anyboby else could conceivably weaken the side. His legs have gone and he is but a pale shadow of the player, who showed such promise many years ago.

He had a terrible game last night. He was being beaten in the air every time - that's a given, he was up against a much more physical opponent. However, he didn't tackle, nor block runs. Whenever we had possession down the left; he had too often drifted inside, and couldn't offer an option for the man in possession. His work rate appeared poor, and when he had opportunity to threaten goal - took the wrong decision and took the ball on himself instead of looking for the man inside.

I was both shocked and dismayed he came out for the second half. His head wasn't right, as best witnessed by some foolish tackles, which - with a strict ref - could have laded him in trouble. Time for a change

I was in the corner so view of free kick was restricted but i'm certain it was McSheffrey, whoever took it, took it with his left foot so i doubt it was Baker. My anger at the free kick was we had set up a one off miracle of a chance to equalise the tie, Crewe had gone a decent ball into the penalty spot would have created mayhem in their defence, foul, penalty who knows. But talking of McSheffrey and Baker for a moment they are supposedly senior players, been there done it but both played like debutants yesterday, drifting into the middle, restricting our midfield with little width. Both are what i call headline hunters

Gary was awful last night, the problem I have with him is he don't even look like an attacking threat and never has done in my opinion.
