It’s obviously a no-brainer for us, I responding to suggestions that the likes of Leeds, Newcastle or BHA would be happy with an unproven GK at that level.

All 3 of those teams are trying to push on, our goal will be survival or in the worst case, ready to piss the Championship again should we fail in the first goal.

Let’s not forget that there was a lot of finger pointing at Rushworth in the 1st few games and in the prem, that scrutiny will be much higher, especially for top had teams.

I’m probably letting my sky blue specs get in the way of common sense but I do think a loan or buy back makes sense for Brighton. Let him prove himself or not with us then pick him up if we go down.

With Rushworth being a BHA academy player, I think the pure FFP profit will be too much to turn down. For a similar reason, we’ll probably cash in on Eccles at some point this summer or next (if we stayed up).

My view is that they’ll cash in, they must’ve been willing to seriously entertain offers in the summer for us to have had a £5.5m offer rejected. When it comes to suitors, we’re the obvious choice because it’s a 0 risk transfer for us, and considerably more for a top half Prem team.

Had we failed to go up, we’d have had 0 chance of keeping him.

Marcel Regula at Zaglebie Lublin would be a decent pick up IMO. Someone who can develop in the background for a year or two. Blows hot and cold but still only 19.

I think best thing for Brighton and Rushworth is for him to go out on loan to a prem team and see how he gets on, I don't think Brighton can take a risk as big as having him as number one without seeing how he performs at that level first.

Was talking to my AC Milan supporting mate at work & he reckons they don't rate Estupinan or Tomori for them - the latter is ex-Chelsea too

The Cayman Islands.
I think he’ll make the step up, but it’s still a huge risk for most Prem teams because he’s unproven at that level and that’s probably what it comes down to.

Well it could put us in the driving seat to sign him then at least on loan for next season. 🤞

I could be wrong, but i don't think that B&HA are anywhere near the FFP limit, so maybe there's no pressure to sell.

No pressure financially maybe, but sales give a transfer budget boost.

Rushworth getting a Championship winners medal changes the expectations for him. A Championship loan won't cut it. Either 1st choice for Brighton, Prem loan of which we would be the leading contender, or sold.

He hasn't played a single game for them since signing for them. A big gamble for them to make Rushworth their No.1

The reports are suggesting BHA are likely to sell. Rushworth will have 1 year left on his contract left and because he’s an academy player, all proceeds are pure profit for FFP. Their specific FFP situation is beside the point, the rules have created an incentive for teams to sell their academy products.

For BHA, selling makes sense and we’re the most logical destination for him. For arguments sake, BHA selling Rushworth to us for £10m makes them more money than selling Verbruggen for £30m.

They’ve got a year option in the clubs favour.

‘Coventry look at Neil deal’ is the story. I assume it’s Dan Neil he is referring too. 2 Sunderland cast offs isn’t a great start to the summer transfer window rumours.
Didn’t Dan Neil got to Ipswich on a permanent deal?

Ugh hope not. Not sure signing players already deemed not good enough for the Prem is a sensible transfer strategy.

Only player we’ve been linked with who looks decent so far is Denkey. Hope it’s just crap journos.

I'd like us to buy T. George in the summer, he's only on loan at Everton and he's apparently not getting much play time, Chelsea will need to sell players and we will be in the premier League under Lampard which would be a massive pull for him now.

Dan Neil is a good championship player but he’s not better than what we already have so would be a pointless signing in the premier league

He’s no better than Torp or Eccles, hopefully nothing in it.
There won't be, its nonsense. We already have the real Eccles, who i doubt gets loads of minutes next season, so why on earth we'd want the 'we have Eccles at home' Eccles, i have no idea.
