Profesional reasons ? Personal reasons ? Undisclosed knowledge of ???. Profesional reasons ? really ? after seeing 30000 cram into the Ricoh for lets be honest a tin pot cup-tie and seeing away followings increase week by week there is noway Huddersfield Town can come anywhere near Cov. Personal ? Well could be, will still live in the area, kids at local schools etc, etc. Just think that would have been said. Something more sinister, that's my worry. Is there something threatening ahead ? No deal on rent, no income other than a bit of gate money, discussions with board and Seppella has something raised it's head. A worry

My guess is he's made a simple evaluation on the chances of succeeding both here and up there, based on the last two games the season has slipped away from him and us with the prospect of a much reduced budget next season, plus a wage rise on top of all that, quite opporotunist but coherrent thinking.

Because he is a greedy liar who thinks Huddesfield are bigger than Coventry. Hope he fails.
I believed in him and its bothering me.

Loyality is well and truely dead, give him a bllod transfusion to get the sky blue out of his viens

Yep, agree with all that wingy. It's seems clear that Robijs believes our promotion hopes are pretty much over. Another season in league one or a crack at the championship?

Because Huddersfield are a better club than Cov at the moment:

Higher league
Better players
Financially stable in terms of investment and stadium tenancy
Pay rise
Near his family

They just trump us in almost every way

Oh and can we stop giving ourselves a pat on the back for the JPT attendance? It was a one off, the norm has been our 10-11.5k league attendances which haven't gone up this season.

My guess is money money money. Reports say they have doubled his wage. He'd of dropped a leage for that. Greed wins every time I'm afraid. Case closed.

Oh I doubt there is anything in the wings waiting to come out about SISU. That will happen in the course of normal events regardless.

I just think the guy did well in a short period and got noticed. He's clearly ambitious and I would imagine very thoughtful before making big decisions as seen from his interviews.

I suspect from various news released so far the guy has been offered substantially more money and a longer contract link with certain bonuses that he may have found just too tempting to turn down at this time. Who could blame him for that? Sure he would not have wished for the mess it makes at Coventry and the inevitable questions but he must take a good opportunity and a substantial salary increase when a club has come calling and identified you as who they want.

He did the decent thing and sat down with Coventry and probably got offered a longer contract and more money to stay on. sadly though at league 1 level that increase was still probably no match for what Huddersfield have offered. here he may have been on £125 - 150k a year and bonuses. We may have offered him £200k. A very good whack in league 1. The problem is Huddersfield have probably offered £300k or more plus bonuses. SISU would also not have been able to give him carte blanche to the future financial support as it is an ongoing thing.

Basically his own prospects are better served at this time at Huddersfield. To have stayed he would have given up a hell of a lot and not sure he could honestly convince his family that would have been right. It's an unforturtunate twist of circumstances for Coventry and one they will need to act quickly upon.

We saw before what happens when you leave inexperience at the helm all too well. I sincerely hope we have contacted several candidate already.
Grayson for me is actually a great choice but seems others are after him at Preston and again a league above is a step up and so coming here more difficult to agree. What Robins hads done is leave us in better shape than when he arrived and other managers will look to that and the huge potential this club has before it.

would so love us to get to wembley now more than ever as im sure that he'd still be here if he had the prize of leading a team out on the hallowed turf to look forward to. How is a new manager expected to motivate the players for the club when they see a man who they have obviously beleived in like us ...jump ship. Cant wait for his return in a fixture... should put a few thou on the gate just to hurl dogs abuse at him.

Nope I don't think so at all. read what I said above and how could you draw such a conclusion? If I was in MR shoes I too would have to take the deal. He has left us in so much better shape than where we were 5 months ago. If he returns in a fixture I would have no problem and no desire to hurl abuse in his direction.

Seeing as he had a 3 year contract with us,couldn't sisu have put their foot down and just said no your'e not leaving??

I guess they could if there hadn't been a release clause, but if there wasn't such a clause it would have been rubbish for moral. And I would imagine the League Managers Association or whoever they are would object and start throwing their weight around. Clubs are powerless when it comes to a player or a manager who wants to leave for pastures new.

To be honest, if the release clause was only a five-figure sum; it wasnt worth bothering with. It's like trying to stop a charging rhino with a sherry trifle.

In fact, Robins might as well have had a neon 'for hire' sign on his tracky-top from December onwards

Not if he had a"release clause" in his contract, which he is supposed to have, and Huddersfield have met the comp. fee.

He said himself he was discussing future plans with Seppala last week. My guess is he was told there was no money for players, whether we got promoted or not, and H'field offered him a decent wedge to spend on getting players in over the summer. It's about ambition, and whether owners are prepared to match it with investment in players.

If that's true, why declare yourself to be "happy" the day after?

And, to be fair, I think he's had a decent squad to work with and players when he's wanted them, including one yesterday.

Because he has no loyalty and money talks. So what if we have a few demons that are yet to be disclosed, what ever happened to loyalty????
Lets start looking forward, Robins is yesterday's news.
Hopefully the defence will have their first training session in months.

You deduce his salary was poor and he was undervalued because....?

Which begs the question, how little was he really being paid/valued ???
