In all seriousness, has to be 3 points for us given the opportunity. Thats not to shit on Bristol who aren’t a bad side, just the circumstance of the timing means it’s a great time to play them and we have to take the opportunity.

Weren't QPR supporters saying similar before they beat us at Loftus Rd?
Be a tricky game.
A few differences now.

No injured list. No virus just gone through our squad. They didn't just play an extra 120 minutes in mud midweek and we also have a stronger squad.

I never take any game for granted, but this certainly will be one of our easiest away games left when you consider the circumstances.

Found this article re 1977 game.

I was there. A weird last 20 minutes of "After you Claude". We were anxious because we had been 2-0 up. I remember many steady looping crosses from Mick Coop, caught by their goalie, who booted it up field - and then repeat.

First goal will be crucial

Bristol City’s players and their manager will have points to prove after last night. That could be dangerous for us. If we score early the crowd could turn on them again ….

Three points however it comes. Results are all that matters at this stage. We’re in red hot form, they’re 15th in the home league table. Solid professional job is all that’s needed. Hope the inbreds do us a favour but you can’t count on them, or at least only to six.

Confident of a win here, Bristol lose just as many as they win and their home form is weak. We’ve had the better of them at home over the last few years but haven’t had the greatest of times travelling to
Ashton Gate.

Absolutely right
Had decided we weren’t playing this weekend so now really nervous again

Only because he was clutching his shoulder in the first half and then came off holding his glute just after halftime.

not Sure Grines would say “yeah he’s ficked” if asked post gsme. He said he thought he was ok ‘hopefully’ from what I read.

And Grimes said he was fine

Yesterday's game went perfectly for us. ET and they lost so have to play us a few days later.

But let's not get complacent. They may well be more tired than us and we are overall a better team, but if we don't put in a professional performance they could bite us on the arse.

I'd be quite happy for us to keep possession and make them chase the ball first half and then up the tempo second.

Would love to see us go down there and open them up like we did to Stoke in the first half, but I think Lampard has learnt his lesson away from home. I can see it being another West Brom type performance/result, sit deep & frustrate and take our chances when they come & hopefully have it wrapped by the hour mark so we can make changes for Wednesday.
