I'm not scoring on the quality, but 10s all round for the effort. Every player, every ball and we deserved our rewards. I know it won't always go our way, but that level of effort for the next 14 and no way we dont go up.

Referee sure wasn't a homer, some of his decisions on fouls given to Boro seemed highly questionable to say the least.

Pretty clearly Saka and Haji had great games. Hard to call MOTM. However much as I love Saka, three goals is pretty impressive plus the performnce too. Not a big fan of Haji, but that was a very good performance.

Credit too to Matty and Bobby. Joel too your desire and professionalism shines through . You might not be an amazing player but teams dont need all amazing players , teams always benefit from the likes of Joel!

This was smash and grab. We were actually a bit lucky. Could easily have lost 3-1. Lots of effort but lacking in skill particularly to keep possession.

8's for Haji, Saka, Thomas
7's for the rest except
6 for MVE, Grimes
You've obviously had too much to drink on your Birthday??????

I'd go very similar but a point less for Milan, that point to be shared a half each extra to Onyeka & Lati.

I thought Markola looked a bit bewildered by it all!

According to the Boro fans, we are the second coming of Wimbledon 🤣
A mate who supports a Prem team texted me to after Wright's goal and said "Do you think you'd play it out from the back in the Prem? Everyone else does. You're incredibly direct". I said "nah, we're the new Wimbledon. Might as well be, we're crap at Tika Taka."

What a massive difference to what was expected by many. We've been unlucky recently but everything fell into place for once. 6 wins out of 6?

As we showed we don't have anything to worry about except for ourselves. Onyeka? Absolute class. Just what we needed. Maybe now the doubters will start to understand the difference between the Prem and the Championship. We're not Prem ready but Onyeka would be our first name on the team sheet.

That first half was superb. The way we stayed composed in the second half was also excellent. Haji clearly on fire and deserved MOTM. Thomas put a decent shift in too. High scores all round

Thought Markola looked alright personally. Maybe not quite on the same wavelength as everyone yet. Did some good work defensively, which was what was required at the point he came on.

He's destined to be a player who will have his surname spelled a hundred different ways.

Not sure what I did there. I'm normally so pedantic about these things. I blame being ill. 🤣

Despite his top performance last night Sakamoto will not get an assist stat for the 1st goal, or statistical credit for the cross which Wright headed against the post, or for his excellent defensive coverage. That means the next time we don't get a result certain posters will come on here justifying criticism of him for his lack of goal contributions :(

We've not lost a game he's started this season. In fact, since he started at Southampton the only times we've won are games he's started.
Im not convinced on lats..yes hes played very well and is consistant.

He has the shirt at the moment. But i woukd be inclined to bring back Kitching at some point as hes more capable of a 9/10 and score a crucial goal.

Lats has surprised me and more than happy at the moment he keeeps the shirt.

I think there will be games where he might prefer Kitching's ability on the ball, especially against teams that sit in. At the moment though it is Lati's shirt on merit.

Btw they've got a very similar scoring record:
Lati 4 in 91
Kitching 4 in 97

Sakamoto was the best player on the field last night. He is so good with the ball at his feed. I've heard people moan that he's 'predictable' but if that means he doubles back and puts in a good cross it doesn't matter if it's predictable when the defenders can't stop him. He becomes a more likeable player because he works so hard to get back and defend and chase everything down. I would start him every match, one of my favourite players for a long time.

Wright, Onyeka, Rudoni were excellent too.

I think Sakamoto was very good as he is when he's on it with the intensity he played at last night. When he's not playing at that intensity he is much less effective.

I think which ever centre back combo we play going forward will find life a bit easier with the added protection Onyeka lends to the defence.

A mate of mine (after watching on Monday night) said Cov reminded him of a 90's Premier League team but in a good way. Not sure what he really meant. Behind Simm's goal at Boro my favourite move/ goal of the season was EMC's header at Derby. Kitching's long angled ball, MVE's first time cross, and bang EMC. That would probably be considered direct too. Give me that every time.

I would have agreed up until Monday. I wanted Kitching back in too as Lati makes me nervous when he's on the ball, just like Wilson did when the ball was played back to him. But my god, he's a fighter. No he's not quick, or technically very good, but he's a warrior, a talker and I bet a real pain in the ass to play against as a striker. His shirt now. No doubt. I really like Kitching but his form dropped off quite abit around Xmas.
