Coventry 2 - 1 Boro

Have to believe dont i
Yup

That's what makes us fans. While we sing together.

Going to be a tough ask and we really will need to up our game big style, but if everyone is up for it, we do of course have a chance.

Big games need big players. Might be a game for Rudoni to really make his mark.

Wright (or Simms) need their shooting boots on.

Anyway, I will be really disappointed if we don't come out from the very first whistle with our feet pushed right down on the pedal.

Right I’m changing my attitude. I’ve been through the change curve and hit bottom. Time to get out of this rut

We’ve got nothing to lose now. The players have to really want this. The management have to want this. The fans have to want this.

We’re still in the auto slots and it’s in our hands.

Only way we’re going to get a result against Boro is if we are all in the fight together. Players have to show the passion from minute one and they will be backed by the SBA!

It’s time for Frank to unleash the Tank. Bring EMC back in and just fucking go for it.

Ok - everyone saying Frank "the tank" will sort us out.

Why!? What is saying that he will!?

Why do we assume all of our signings are the second coming of Pele.

People were jizzing themselves hearing we'd signed Brau. He's shit

People saying KKH was an upgrade on MVE because he won a few awards at Preston - yes Preston who were nearly relegated!

He could be a liability and just not fit how we play (what even is that at the moment!?)

Big big big gamble to throw him in now in Monday...

I just want somebody to take a set piece and we attack the first or second ball. Not have it end up back with rushworth.

City’s shrewd move

Deadline day signing Frank Onyeka is yet to make his debut since joining Coventry City on loan from Brentford, having been an unused sub during the weekend’s 0-0 draw with Oxford.

But his parent club boss Keith Andrews believes the 28-year-old holding midfielder has the quality to help the Sky Blues get promoted back to the Premier League.

Andrews told trainee sports journalist Dicken Richards at last week’s pre-match press conference ahead of the 3-2 win at Newcastle: “Frank’s a Nigerian international, that’s vastly experienced.

“He’s been on this journey with the club since being promoted from the championship. Tough tackling, box to box midfielder that can get goals.

“I think he’s a really shrewd buy for Coventry, for where they’re at and where they hopefully want to get to.”

Common sense says we're going to struggle, and likely lose.

Clutching at straws, we're at home and we have got good results against Boro in the recent past. Even more of a stretch, maybe now we're chasing rather than top some of the pressure will have been released from the players, or maybe even Boro will feel it more.

Definitely need to shore up defensively, so Onyeka has to come in next to Grimes as a double pivot. Having got a clean sheet defence will almost certainly be unchanged, even though a lot of that is we were playing a poor Oxford who didn't really try to attack us that much (and still managed to get a couple of decent opportunities) and I'm unconvinced Woolf and Lati will be effective at repelling their attack. But having said that Thomas and Kitching have been full of errors recently anyway too.

We really, really can't afford to lose this one, and arguably need to win it, but the way we've been you really struggle to see us getting a positive result.

On current form I would expect us to lose 1-4.

I'm praying for a 1-0 win.

🤞

This is one of those typical Coventry games.

We 100% should be losing this, Boro play some incredible football under Hellberg and we've been.. shite as of late.

Yet these are the games we somehow win. Saying that, we need to win it to stay ahead of 3rd place so here's hoping.

Why would Onyeka NOT start ffs? He's proven in the Prem so bit of a thick comment
Also,I don't think anyone were creaming themselves over Brau were they? Odd post

He had a chance to look at Onyeka on Saturday.
He didn't.
Think he'd have to change the midfield up a bit to accommodate him - not as simple as just chucking him in with Grimes in the biggest game of our season. That is why it is a risk.
Will he take it...who. Knows.

And people absolutely were thinking Brau was an upgrade on Dasilva without even seeing him play.

They've won 6 in a row and we've got 1 point in the last 3 games.
This has got a Cov win all over it.

Think (hope) we'll put in a performance

I'd do something different and play 3 centre backs, worked great at the riverside switching to a 3 man defence in the second half. Grimes and Onyeka in the middle and probably Sakamoto and Rudoni behind Wright or Simms.

Now we've been knocked off the top the pressure seems to be off a bit. Now we don't have to worry about staying top, we can get on with the game again. 2-0 City

Then it was a complete waste of time signing him

He has a pedigree in the Premier League and in international tournaments, these are the type of games he was brought in for surely?

He should have at least debuted off the bench on Saturday, I found it absolutely bizarre that he didn’t

Was a bit of a strange one, has to start Monday surely ? He plays and allows grimes to get a bit more forward has to be the idea, he is a holding midfielder

No soft players allowed in this lineup.

Also, what is this about the pressure being off? It is the most pressure we have ever been under. At 10 points clear there was a lot less.
