Not a moan, but an observation. Yesterday was a good example of it, I thought.

We had a lot of possession and control, but if we had the ball wide, or had a free kick or a corner, the lack of Thomas, Kitching, Simms and Rudoni left us with very limited aerial threat. In recent games Rudoni and Torp seem to have lost their threat attacking in the box (compared to earlier in the season). Rudoni - maybe it's due to the shoulder injury - Torp - I've no idea why tbh. Whilst the recent defensive issues may have resulted in Thomas/Kitching being dropped, I am far more confident of them winning headers when we are attacking. I think it is too important to our attacking side and think it would have made a difference yesterday (and in the future).

Oggy on the phone in after the match said Thomas at least brings some threat from coners.

This is where they need to mix it up then! Yesterday every corner we had you just knew there was gonna be no threat! We should have played a few short corners! Drilled the ball in on the floor, could have got a deflection and went anywhere! Pretty much what was happening with our shots on goal! Our set pieces are becoming too predictable

Kitching's form's fallen down a hole, and Thomas has lost all semblance of discipline.

You can't pick centre halves to attack set pieces. Both need some time out of the side.

Can't disagree, but Thomas especially is a huge threat at set pieces.Would have liked him on the pitch yesterday.

Yup it was so frustrating watching. I think all ten of our corners were floated in and headed away from the 6 yard box. Our free kicks too. It was so obvious they had a massive height advantage.

I thought Thomas could have come on when Lati got hurt, that fucking Heilik got everything in the air, yet Grimes still kept putting looping crosses in the box.
I’m wondering if the threat of being moved on next season if we go up is affecting the mindset of players? How many of them will realistically be good enough to make the step up

The only one who’d be good enough to start would be Rushworth and probably MVE.

I think both Thomas and Kitching warranted being left out. However, it would have made sense to bring Thomas on after the sending off to load the box from set pieces and open play.
Maybe the answer is Simms?

Our long throws used to be a threat. Now every single one seems to be easily headed clear by the opposition at the near post with our nearest attacker about 5 yards behind him.

Good point..very good point. We beed another /other option yesterday.

We had that vs Swansea at home.

We s ored most goals by a mile from set plays in this league. And yet had no height in box.

It was frustrating yesterday that we focused on crosses in the final 20 when they had little effect. We looked most dangerous when playing through the middle for example when Rudoni failed to shoot. The problem with our playing style is seems to me is that we have retreated into the safety of playing out to wingers, crossing and hoping for the best. It’s made us really one-dimensional to defend against and with our LBs and RBs so high (with little attacking threat) easy to attack against.

We are too soft and haven't got the natural instinct to do this. Especially our two strikers.

Which makes the crying even worse.
If only we could all be as cool, calm and collected as you

And this was after a win when we were good!

I’d start Asante up front against West Brom, bit more of an incentive for him, just can’t keep hoping wright and Simms magically find some goals, wright looks done, anything from the mboro game is a bonus and the only positive from yesterday was the clean sheet,

I’m hoping getting Asante back, and hopefully playing anywhere near how he was in October/November, will give us a boost to get this promotion over the line. Still monumentally disappointed in him over the suspension for such a crucial run of fixtures.

it was stupid. Think out of frustration more than anything, he’s not used to being in a losing team,

Rushworth definitely (if we could buy him after his loan ends) and don't forget we have a premier League Midfielder we are obliged to buy if promoted,I would add EMC to a small list of players we have that could make the step up.

It's amazing how well Tats does in the air.

The first thing he does right is actually try and win the ball unlike our 6 foot plus players who seem to hope the defender will miss it or they can just jump softly into someone instead.
