It’s a shame it’s ended this way… (1 Viewer)

Today showed that we won’t make it in the autos race.

This is not even a melodramatic post. The players don’t have the mentality, fight, passion to do this. Been evident for months.

If this is how they want to perform at home then there’s no chance for the rest of the season.

How on earth will these bunch of players be up for a battle with Boro?

Lampard you’re to blame as well as you’ve persisted with some nonsense tactics, formations even when we started the downward spiral. Don’t use injuries and fatigue as an excuse. You should have tightened us up over the last few months.

If you can’t beat Oxford who are awful at home in a promotion run in you don’t deserve anything. We don’t have any away form.

Too many so called big players picking up a wage for little return. No urgency, passion, creativity… nothing.

We won’t be going up through the autos and we haven’t a hells chance in winning any play off battles.

It’s a shame as this is the once in the blue moon chance to get out of this league. But it’s ending in a worrying style.

Thought I was the only one after reading all of the replies in the match thread.

We played better than we have the last few games and looked more solid with less spaces everywhere.

Up front we were rotten but that seems to be par for the course with us. Our forwards are either scoring every game or doing jack shit.

We played well enough to win the game. Oxford parked the bus. Poor finishing cost us. Hull have just lost at home to a team that lost 5 nil at home to Derby. Sheff Utd will have a good chance of beating Boro and so do we. Not too concerned tbh.
The game reminded me of how we used to be under Carrick for his lst 2 seasons when playing sides down at the bottom. (And even a couple of games hangover of that trend prior to Hellberg - and against Bristol City for Hellberg too, but they're Hoodoo so don't count them)
Completely dominate, run opponents ragged, bombarded their goal with a constant rain of shots, yet nil goals.

The only difference being that with us on more than a few occasions, the opposition would make a rare break away, bang, 1-nil, smash and grab🙄

Tighter, just not clinical enough.. but anyone with at least one operational eyeball could see we played much better today. We just couldn’t break them down. It’s basically a repeat of Norwich at home.

Might not make the play offs at this rate 😂
Outside Sheff Wed at home where we might nick a 0-0 draw, we might up losing all the remaining games at the rate we’re going. I don’t think 60 points will be enough for a playoff place.

There's definitely a fragile mentality within the squad, IMO. It feels as though we didn't recover from the defeats to Ipswich. We're now reliant on Sheff Utd doing us (another) favour.

I'm a Boro fan, there's not a chance in hell that I'm even considering us as all home and hosed when there's plenty of opportunities remaining yet for it to blow up in our faces! Starting away at the Blades on monday which will be a tough old game, though it would be lovely to stick 2 fingers up to Wilder.

Learned from experience the hard way🤪

I'm with you... it's not terminal but it feels it's like turning a cruise liner.

My problem was not playing Oneyka... we need something different.
Strange choice for me to not start him , grimes is not playing well and hes obsessed with him

Not a lack of effort today, but there was certainly a few players not wanting to take responsibility near the end there.

Woolfenden probably put in the best cross of the game but flapped it on two occasions when he could have had another go. Not intending to single him out, more as an example!
