This is one that many people have probably missed due to it`s very odd screening time of 9.30 pm on Saturday night on BBC1.

Waiting For The Out.

It`s truly outstanding and Josh Finnan in the lead is surely one of our brightest young acting talents( the smackhead Marco -The Responder / Gerry Adams - Say Nothing ).

A young idealistic Philosophy teacher, gets a job teaching Philosophy to bored inmates in a Cat B prison.

However his life is slowly being ruined by his crippling OCD and the baggage he`s carrying from his abusive father as a child.

The series follows him, as his life starts to slowly fall apart.

I really can`t over estimate how good this, both the writing, the cast and in particular the performance of Finnan, who reminds me very much of Jack O`Connell when he first emerged.

It`s just about to finish but you can get it on Iplayer.

Found it a frustrating watch. Started strong but then just didn't really go anywhere.

Clearly I'm in the minority as its got rave reviews everywhere.

Everything is subjective mate, which is why we all enjoy different things.

Josh Finnan is a big talent though.

Just watched House of Dynamite. Worst ending of any film I have ever watched. Fucking bollocks

Personally I liked the ending and that it was open to interpretation. Feel the film was more about how close the world is to nuclear war at all times, rather than what actually happens.
I can see why it got quite a bit of stick though.

Caught up with the first two episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms yesterday - the new Game of Thrones spin off.
Thought it was pretty good so far, and I like that it's more grounded and focused on one characters story, rather than epic CGI battles and dragons.
Duncan's accent though... it like an Irish/Bristol hybrid

Watched 'I Swear' last night...

'John Davidson: diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome at a young age which alienated him from his peers, he struggled with a condition few people had witnessed.

Brilliant acting by the grown up lead..

I can't believe they have made a film about him. That documentary is sad but it's so funny when they all get together 😲 their brains are comedy genius.

Just binge watched "Steal" over two nights, it's very decent and worth checking out (Amazon Prime).
Also recently finished watching "Landman" series two which is very good even if only to bookmark Billy Bob's killer comments in most episodes.
Yep steal is pretty good.

Hijack 2 is great fun

Doesn't make much sense, but Idris Elba is fab once again and it's all quite tense and gripping.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is sublime. I preferred the first 28YL if I had to choose one but honestly, both are wonderful.

The inevitable scene between Ralph Fennes and Jack O'Connell will probably be my favourite movie scene of 2026. It's like watching one of the greatest to ever do it go head-to-head with his successor.

Silent Hill was genuinely one of the worst movies ive seen in the last 3 years.

Iron Lung tonight, which has got impressive reviews.

Thanks, I was toying with Silent Hill, but haven`t read a decent thing about it yet !

Very much looking forward to Iron Lung (y)

We watched the first two episode of Steal earlier this week. It didn't go in the direction I expected it to which was a nice surprise, and Sophie Turner is really good in it.

Working my way through my " to watch list at the mo " .

Just finished series one of four of - Preacher.

It`s completely bonkers and it took me a few episodes to go into it, but it`s got me totally hooked.

The chemistry between Joe Gilgun as the insane Irish vampire Cassidy and Dominic Cooper as the Preacher is fantastic.

Total chaos, but great fun.

I'm struggling to think of a new TV series from the last 10 years I'd put above Chernobyl. Mad that it was written by the same chap who was responsible for the Hangover and Scary Movie sequels.

It’s unbelievable. Struggle to choose what the best episode is, every one is a classic. The bit at the end of episode 2 with the divers made me feel like I was about to have a panic attack when I first watched it.

Think Sky repeat it fairly regularly
They have it on catch up so presumably its also on NowTV which you can subscribe to short term.

Wasn't until he died and I read a tribute article that I realised Dyatlov is the same guy that was Martin in Friday Night Dinner.
