He may get away with this- depends on Norwich who A: didnt have an injury to the player and B; won the game

Why does it depend on Norwich?

It says the FA can become aware of an incident in a variety of ways, one via the Refs report as an incident not seen (so Norwich would have made the ref aware of it). Or Norwich include it in their match report and the Ref is asked did you see?

Possibly other ways the FA can become aware like high profile media attention. But Norwich complaining either to them or the Ref would be the most likely source.

Remember when we played Forest and won 2-1 with a last min winner. O' Hare received a elbow to the face by one of their players. Officials didn't see the Forest player received a 3 game ban

Yes we know retrospective bans exist, we were discussing how the FA are most likely to become aware or receive notification of a complaint.

None of that means Norwich have to report it though. Which is what you said.

Why wouldn't they report it? If they thought their player was fouled aggressively off the ball and the ref didn't see it, I'm pretty certain they'd want it reporting so that it doesn't happen again.

A 3 match ban would rule him out of games including vs Oxford and WBA - two of Norwichs relegation candidates. They'd defo want him banned.

If it happened against us and we still won, we'd all be wanting the club to report it.

They may well want to report it but they don’t *need* to for the FA to investigate.

Again, if they want a key opposition player ruled out for games against survival candidates, they would likely *want* the FA to investigate, especially as there's sufficient evidence of wrongdoing.

I'm not sure if Norwich will or won't report him, but I do think them winning the game makes it a little less likely that they will. It's the same as when a ref makes a bad decision in a game you win, whereby the manager is then less likely to be critical, than in a game where the bad decision costs points.

Didn’t kin elbow him anyway. The guy was grabbing Asante’s arm. He pulled it free and then swung his arm out and caught him with his forearm. Ferkin idiot deserved a smack.
If the Norwich shits are going to condemn him,we shouldn’t join them.

Yeah, it was reckless but i don’t think he was trying to elbow the guy in the face. I don’t think we could complain if he got a ban though

No I didn’t I said I think somebody has to report it and in a later post said Norwich would be the most likely to report the incident.

During the iFollow broadcast the angle they showed it looked really bad. The closer up angle replay from pitch level it looks a lot more like a tussle to break free from the defender rather than a deliberate arm in the face.

Now perhaps I am biased because I believe Asante just isn't that sort of player - a deliberate elbow like that just isn't his game at all.

You could say the same about Dasilva but he got a tackle wrong and deservingly got a red card. The problem for Asante is his arm is very high so more likely to hit the players face than his chest. So it’s an unnecessary challenge off the ball that puts the other player in danger of injury.

Fair point well made. Let's try not to let the relevant authorities see this. Delete your post immediately.

Reading this makes me think that Norwich will have reported it:

Philippe Clement, in talking about both the Asante and Sakamoto incidents, said ". . . it's not my job to talk about those things". 🤔

West Brom will be without Brandon Thomas-Asante for the next three games after he was hit with a retrospective ban by the FA following an incident in the 3-3 draw at Chesterfield.

Don’t think saka was a red and if he reacted to a kick from the Norwich player maybe Norwich need to stay quiet about that one

He’s an absolute shithouser so he probably is that sort of player. Remember him undoing the keepers gloves at a corner.
