Werent u lot saying we should go after gritty midfielder that can inject energy into a mostly technical midfield? Devlin is that. Contract up in the summer, would not be fussed over a rotational role. He’s not shite like you make him seem.

I would prefer dynamic rather than gritty.

He is absolutely shite and plays at an awful level.

You’d think a starting midfielder for the 1st place club in a league dominated by 2 other clubs with much more technical players would have some technique 🤦‍♂️

Why has he never played higher than Scotland then at near 28, and why aren't teams all over him for a pre contract given he can sign them
Because he’s an energy/disruption midfielder with a clear ceiling. Those players tend to peak at their level rather than attract bidding wars, especially at 27-28. It doesn’t make him useless, it just limits market demand. And he did have interest prior to signing his current deal.

Not saying Devlin is the answer just that he fits a specific role as we lack energy, ball recovery, game management. Purely speaking on January impact, I agree we need someone more dynamic on the ball. Devlin is objectively “good” for the role he plays, and would be a cheap, rotational option. Not sure if Doug is willing to break the bank at this point.

We need a big physical ball winning midfielder who can also progress the ball and play further up the pitch.

God I wish we had signed Wouter Burger from Stoke in the summer for something ridiculous like £3/4m.

Don't think we need grit at all. Torp's absences have arguably been the biggest contributor to our dip in form, having a more technical alternative instead of Eccles/Allen would benefit us.

Troy Parrott has just scored a hatrick against Ajax. Any news from John Harriott as to how his transfer is progressing?
With his predictions we'll end up with this chap

Could be anyone and as names don't tend to come out the club its looks like its going to be a frustrating watch. Still think we are going to see a few moved out on Loan or perm deals before we see incomings.

But its just wait and see as im sure things are going on in the background

I've heard of Cammy Devlin and have seen him play.

He's nowhere near the level we are at.
