Its a funny old perspective game, football. Huddersfield fans were happy to see the back of Rudoni. In the summer, the majority on here (myself included) would've happily given BTA a piggy back anywhere in the country to see the back of him.

Players come in and out of form. Sometimes a club doesnt fit a player and vice-versa, and sometimes a move to a new environment brings out the very best in a player (Akpom at Boro, never been any good anywhere else, 1 season wonder). Other times, they are just awful players that seem to make a decent career somehow.

Everyone has different ideas on what makes a good player aswell. Most on here called Moore a carthorse leading up to the Wrexham game and said he was shit. Most said theyd not have him here as he's shit. Hes currently joint second highest scorer in the league, in an average, overpriced, overpaid squad.

The Huddersfield fans I met in France in the Summer did not take that view. They thought Rudoni was the dogs bollox and we got him for a snip.

Castledine is a player i would expect us to be looking at. Chelsea have invested time in him as a young player for a reason and now he may be showing that potential in mens football. Id be happy if this one comes off, very skillful player who looks like he wants the ball and wants to be positive with it once on it.

FL should be all over this one and the lad should want to find his level as he clearly is above L1. Time will tell but i really think this is a player that would fit into our squad and someone that Doug could invest in.

It’s a long old way from L1 standout to PL capable though. Agree he looks great but so have many forwards at that level only to struggle in the Champ let alone the PL. Wouldn’t mind him on loan then reassess at the end of the season.

Looks capable on the ball but this bit worries me:

It may be down to team playing style but it doesn’t scream ‘work rate’ to me. For comparison, Rudoni (in a higher league):

The fitness aspect are things that can be improved on easily and something FL would demand. Its just takes time at the training facility working with the conditioning coach and the desire of the individual to get fittery stronger to get playing minutes.

What cant be coached is the natural attributes he has with the ball. He looks like he has good field awareness, good touch and a bit of pace about him. All those attributes can be improved on but not coached. If he is an option then loan to buy would be a perfect situation if its not him then the type of player with his background is what i expect the club to be looking at.

The Jan window has to have getting us promoted at its core. Which is why it’s a difficult balance. You are bound to have one eye on how new arrivals may fare if we go up. Depth at RW is a must.

Lad in Holland called Gibson Yah who is interesting. 22yo, 6’4 CDM playing his first proper season for Volendam in the Dutch top flight and his ball-winning numbers are insane. Massive project because he’s a bit dodgy on the ball but in the Prem we’re going to average like 40% possession so who cares.
I am getting 'plays like Carlton Palmer' vibes.

I always liked Carlton even though he divided opinion because his style looked a little awkward. You don't get 18 England caps by being shit he brought something.
