Trond Egil Soltvedt has got to stand a chance.

David Bell.
Before and after he came back from the dead.
Slowest winger I've (player?) I've ever seen.

I remember his complete lack of effort tracking an opposition winger for a goal. He basically stopped and they scored, might have been sheff weds at home...

We had a defender Kevan Smith who was a back up to Kilcline in late 80s, slow as fuck and with the turning circle of a barge.

Steve Walsh, Arjan De Zeeuw, Clive Platt and Stuart Beavon come to mind.
Kevin Richardson, Steve Morgan and John Gayle also.
Big Dion was pretty slow, to be honest.

I never did see Leigh Jenkinson display any of that immense pace he supposedly had, either. He’d just plod around and put a cross into the stand.

I know this isn’t a pace related one, but did anyone else think that David Burrows had a really absurd running motion?
Didn't seem to hold Dion back too much

Definitely Arjan De Zeeuw. I think it was WBA who thrashed us 5-0 or something and his lack of pace was there for all to see.

Arjan De Zeeuw, - His legs had completely gone. I remember Crystal Palace away and losing to West Brom 4-0 at home around Christmas. He looked like a pub player

I saw De Zeeuw and Kevin McDonald. Maybe before your time but McDonald was much slower!!
He was knackered by the time he came to us; had been out injured for ages.
I can’t remember who it was against or who would’ve been managing at the time but he started one game on the wing!
Our very own arthritic winger!

Have we made many any worse contracts decisions in the last 20 years than him? Injury prone and dog shit... Let's give him a 4 year deal 'to protect his value'
The contract decision was weird, and yes he lacked pace, but Bell was a technically excellent footballer.

Yes, I was only judging players when they played for us. I appreciate McDonald had a decent career before joining us and that what we saw was not typical of his career in general.

Another one just popped in my head winger Darren Currie. He was proper slow, can't remember him getting away from any fullback. He just used to make a yard of space then crossed.

Awww yeah me too mate. I’ve honestly no idea what he was like before us but he was definitely the slowest player in all the years I’ve watched us.
It was almost incredible to watch.

So excellent that he signed for non league kings Lynn town within 12 months of leaving us...

He was shit. He could hit a decent cross field diagonal but that's about it.
